So far, so good - HUGE improvement over the older Elite models
I upgraded to this toothbrush after I got tired of my previous Sonicare Elite series, which I used daily for almost 5 years straight. The Elite series did an excellent job brushing my teeth, but by the end of it's life, the battery no longer held a reasonable charge. On a full charge, it would brush for maybe 4 to 6 minutes total (2 to 3 brushings) before losing all power. Because the charging base was so large, this made it all but useless for travel. In addition, with the older Sonicare Elite-style brush heads, anyone who used to own one will tell you that they get GROSS quickly. The design seemed like it wasn't well thought out - the brush would take in water into the cavity formed where the brush head screwed into it, and in a matter of days, you would literally have mold and filth growing in and around the gap between the two. It was very difficult to clean that gap out, and in the end, I decided I wasn't going to buy another Sonicare. So I began my first search for a new tooth brush in years, and I figured I'd end up with a competitor like Oral-B. However, I immediately noticed that Sonicare must have realized the flaw in their old design, and I noticed the new snap-on style brush head of the Healthywhite model. I sat down and compared reviews, and decided I'd give Sonicare another chance.I've been using the brush for about a month now and I am VERY glad I went with this Healthywhite model. It keeps the great cleaning ability of my older Sonicare, while widely improving upon all of the previous flawed areas. First of all, the new brush heads just push down onto a metal rod and are very easily removable. The instructions recommend pulling the head off once a week and running the base of the head under water to rinse out any "gunk". Takes 5 seconds total and works perfectly, no more disgusting mold build-up. Secondly, the new charger it sits on is TINY, it would be perfect for extended travel if you think you'll need a recharge away from home. But you probably won't, as the battery on this thing is amazing. In the past 30 days, I've brushed roughly 60 times, and only had to charge the brush twice total! You could go on a two week trip with this brush and never need a single recharge. And lastly, the handle design on this Healthywhite is VERY comfortable to hold and maneuver while brushing. I never really had much of a complaint about the old design either, but this has certain been a pleasant improvement.Anyways, Philips has simplified the design to make it easier to clean and maintain, improved the battery life immensely, and improved the charger design. Everything works well and this brush cleans my teeth as well as if not better than any other brush I've ever used before. I'll update this in the future if I have any problems with it, but I really don't know what else I'd ask for in a rechargeable toothbrush. I highly recommend this product.

This is a review of the Philips Sonicare HX6731/02 "Healthywhite" toothbrush.I also have:- Philips Sonicare HX6921/04 "Flexcare Plus" toothbrush- Philips Sonicare "Gum Health" 3 series sonic toothbrush (model HX6631/02)All three toothbrushes seem to do an equally great job cleaning teeth in the basic "Clean" mode. The Gum Health is the least expensive, but still does a great job cleaning. The Flexcare Plus is the most expensive. The Healthywhite toothbrush has three modes (Clean, Clean & White, and Sensitive), the Flexcare Plus toothbrush has five modes (Clean, Gum Care, Refresh, Sensitive, and Massage), and the Gum Health toothbrush has one mode (Clean).I started using a Healthywhite Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush about two years ago. It was the first electric toothbrush I ever used. Since then, I have visited my dentist three times for regular checkups and cleanings. According to the dental hygienist and my dentist, my teeth are much, much cleaner, requiring far less work (i.e., my teeth had very little plaque buildup). I switched to the Gum Health model for some time and received equally good reviews from my dentist, so the cheapest model still does an outstanding cleaning job.I would recommend that you ask your dental hygienist or dentist for pointers on how to position your toothbrush. After my dentist gave me a short tutorial, I was able to improve my brushing technique. It may take your gums a week or two (or three) to get used to the toothbrush.A brush head comes with the toothbrush; but it will not last forever. I replace the brush head every three or four months. The following replacement brush heads available:- "ProResults"- "Diamond Clean" (best for whitening)- "Intercare" (best for cleaning between teeth and for gum health)- "Plaque Control"- "Sensitive"I mostly use the "ProResults" brush heads (because they cost less) and have been completely satisfied them. I recommend that you check out the prices for replacement brush heads, so you know how much you are going to need to spend each year to use this toothbrush. This toothbrush uses an automatic timer to help you ensure you are brushing sufficiently: the toothbrush will run for a total of 2 minutes, while giving you a buzz every 30 seconds; this ensure that you brush for 30 seconds on the back of your upper teeth, the front of your upper teeth, the back of your lower teeth, and the front of your lower teeth. Although the toothbrush automatically turns off after 2 minutes, you can always turn it back on for additional brushing. The toothbrush has a lithium-ion rechargeable battery. You just place it in its charger stand (included) when not in use and it is fully charged when you need it (the battery cannot be over-charged in its charging stand). The battery life is supposed to be 2 to 3 weeks; I have used it for up to 1 week without recharging. Since this is a lithium battery, it is best to keep it fully charged as much as possible (i.e., a lithium battery should NOT be fully discharged prior to recharging). If the lithium battery ever dies (many years in the future), make sure you recycle it properly, instead of throwing it in the trash.I have no idea what the life expectancy of this toothbrush is. It is rather expensive, so I would hope it lasts a good long time.

Best Toothbrush Hands Down.
Amazing product! Hands down best toothbrush I have EVER tried! My first Sonicare toothbrush and I am super happy with it! No other toothbrush cleans like this one does, not manual not even electric. Sonic all the way! I have tried hundreds of toothbrushes (bit of an oral care junkie here) and really nothing cleans like this does, your teeth feel clean and polished for the entire day! Battery is good. Nice design, easy to hold, clean etc. Only ever going to buy Sonicare brushes from now on.
