I’ve used just about every method of shaving. You can imagine (double edge safety razor, electric razors). After a few years of using a Panasonic Arc5, Arc6, Braun Series 9 electric razors, I was getting tired of razor burn, bumps and boring shave routines. In steps this Gillette heated razor! I can’t describe in words, the feeling you feel of joy when you use this heated razor. This makes you feel like you are receiving the King’s shave in the morning or whenever you shave. Stop reading this review and buy this razor. You will not be disappointed. Yes it’s pricey but we men have very little things to splurge on ourselves for. The heat helps open up your pores, thus making you less prone to ingrown hairs and razor bumps. I use Jack Black triple cushion shaving cream and a Muehle badger hair brush. Use the best lather/shave cream money can buy so you will get an awesome smooth buttery shave. The heat is really a nice feature and it does feel like a hot towel shave. Two passes and I’m done and have a glass smooth face. Gillette truly is the best a man can get. (Or the best a man’s wife can get him lol!)

Update I had given this one star because the handle died after 45 days. I contacted customer service and they were great. New handle,is on its way. I had one for several years and it was 5 stars. It finally died and I bought a replacement - it died 40 days after I bought it. Outside the refund window for Amazon and no warranty (that I could find) from Gillette. Gillette blades are still the best

Don't get me wrong, for what your getting, the gimmick is expensive. Thing is: heating element works. Only takes a few seconds to start and gets *warm*. Feels great (for what they're charging? It better...) and the heating element does have the "practical" benefit of not rapidly degrading the lubricating strip by constantly running it under hot water. I don't need this razor. Not even a little bit. But as far as "spare no expense manual shave experience" this is it. I'm glad my wife appreciates QOL purchases like this or else I'd be in the dog house. Okay, let's be honest. It's a gimmick. The question is then if the gimmick is worth the price. From my perspective I'd say no, but I do like the heat and I also like the resulting shave so it's a keeper. I'm happy I got it, I'd be happier if it was cheaper. I don't understand why there's some who say they don't feel the heat or it takes a long time to heat up. I turned mine on and boom it was hot. Bad unit maybe? I mentioned the resulting shave. Smoother than I've been getting with the standard Gillette Labs razor. I don't give the blade on the heated razor credit because it's the same blade. I give credit to the fact that I slowed the shave speed down. There's a trade off for that. If I continued the shave speed as the standard razor, I'd get the same shave but without the heat experience. By default, you gotta slow it down or you won't feel the heat. And by slowing down you also get a better shave. Would I recommend this? Not really. If it was cheaper, sure.

I know this razor is a little pricey but it is worth every bit of it. If I had to buy it again I wouldn't even think about it it's that good And yes I will buy it again Thanks

WARNING! DO NOT BUY! DONT WASTE A PENNY ON THIS! A couple years ago my brother gifted me one of these heated razors for Christmas. At first I absolutely loved it and would get the best shave from it, raves about the product and would recommend it to everyone. For a close friends bday I bought him one as a gift and he loved it too! Unfortunately, being absent minded, I left mine in the gym one day and wasn’t able to recover it. A little over a year ago I purchased this one as a replacement. A few days ago it just stopped working, no reason, stored and charged the way it always has been it just stopped taking any charge and doesn’t respond to any of the button functions. I called Gillette customer support and THEY WERE NOT HELPFUL AT ALL! Literally the rep told me it’s only warrantied for a year and the useless “Superviso” Austin said these only have a 1 year lifespan. Very unethical for the manufacturer to know that the $200 item is only expected to last a year and hide that from the consumer. I explained that I’m a loyal return customer and asked if there’s any support that can be extended to me in this situation and he rudely said no and ended the call. Gillette should take note to properly train customer service reps and to better monitor this subpar performance. This seller and others should know that selling products that don’t have proper manufacture support makes their reputations susceptible too! I wouldn’t recommend this product or other products this seller offers as clearly they don’t do their homework either.

I have been using these razors for at least 5 years and cannot live without it. Blades last longer and the feel is amazing

For Valentine's Day, I decided to get my husband this Gillette heated razor, knowing he has always been a fan of Gillette and Braun products. After conducting thorough research and observing which features worked best for him in the past, I had a strong feeling he would love the world's first heated razor. I especially love the magnetic design that allows it to charge while standing upright on its stable, sturdy dock. It charges quickly, and he can conveniently use it either in the shower or at the sink since it is fully waterproof. Honestly, I’m not sure which of us was more impressed with the quality. The heating sensation, combined with his shaving cream, left his skin feeling incredibly silky and smooth.

After less than a year of use, the razor discharges after 2 shaves. Earlier it used to last one week. Is there a way to get better performance from battety - battery replacement etc. ??

Been wanting to try this product since launch, and it has significant shaving efficiency differences to the present 5 blade gillettes.. full charge for about 3-4 shaves. Problem - battery extraction/replacement.

I gave this as a gift to someone who shaves both their head and face almost daily. The shave was pleasant and much smoother! I even tried it as a sample on my leg. The warmth felt really nice and I noticed a closer shave, with less drying out and more moisture left on the skin. It is costly but you also get what you pay for sometimes. It charges quickly and easily.
