I have been using the Western Digital WD 1TB My Passport Portable Hard Disk Drive for several months now and I am extremely impressed with its performance. As someone who works with large files and needs to constantly back up important data, this hard drive has been a lifesaver. First of all, the design of the hard drive is sleek and compact, making it easy to carry around with me wherever I go. The black color gives it a professional and modern look. The USB 3.0 connection ensures fast transfer speeds, which is essential for my work. The storage capacity of 1TB is more than enough for my needs, and I appreciate the fact that I can store a large number of files without worrying about running out of space. The hard drive also comes with password protection and hardware encryption, which adds an extra layer of security to my data. In terms of performance, this hard drive has exceeded my expectations. It is incredibly fast and reliable, and I have not experienced any issues with data loss or corruption. I use it to transfer large files, and it has never failed me.

I am writing this review after one week of use. I bought the new model of WD My Passport 1 TB external HDD. The package arrived on time, as always an excellent service by Amazon. Also, the package was well packed, and I received the product in an excellent condition. Coming to this hard disk drive: This is extremely portable and light weight. It came with a transfer cable and instruction manual along with the main product. There are exe files (separate for Windows and Mac OS) for installing the software for usage with your PC, which enables easy transfer, security and backup. There is an option for password protecting your external HDD. The transfer was hassle free. It took ~10 minutes for transferring ~90 GB data, which I believe is fine. There was no heating of device as well. So overall this new external HDD is another amazing product by Western Digital. It is convenient to carry, is easy to use. (This is my first external HDD device. I've backed up my data once only as of now. I will update this review once I back-up few more times.)

Excellent product

It's an awesome product. It's pretty compact in size and lightweight too. One thing is that you'll get only 931gb of storage available for storing your data out of 1tb (1024gb) which looks normal as every 1tb drive offers only that much storage. Also, the HDD is quite fast. I was able to transfer my data from my laptop to this drive at a speed of 33 Mbps which is really really good as the Internal HDD of my laptop is 8 years old and isn't fast at all. Overall the product worth every penny you'll spend on it. I got the new passport edition in black color of 1tb storage at ₹3985. Just make sure to record an unboxing video while unboxing the product so that you can have a proof if the product comes in a damaged or bad condition.

WD PASSPORT never disappoint..it's working very fast and good as of now . But the box was full of dirt when it reached me . Better service is expected.

So far, so good. Data transmission speed is same as mentioned, no sudden drops in speed or anything like that. Comes with a dedicated companion app through which one can encrypt the data and give a password to the device to unlock and read/write everytime you plug in, which is very useful. If you forget the password you have to format the device and lose all your data, no other way to retrieve the password via emails or anything like that. I find it much slim lightweight and handy if compared to its arch rival in the market (not taking the name here, you already know the name.. Sssssss!). The footprint of the device is very small and not heavy at all. Just like our old phones 5years back.

Was in a dilemma whether to buy WD or Seagate - they are both equally reputable in this space. Post analysis settled for this version of the My Passport has it seemed like it was good in terms of value for money. In terms of the seller, no issues. However, WD Passport ( and i'm assuming all the other external hard disks) have some serious compatible issues with MAC. In my case, I was on a high Serrier version OS and my passport was not being detected by MAC. After alot of research across WD Website, Forums, Blogs etc - I figured out that it's a very common issue with alot of folks worldwide. In the end, I had to upgrade to the latest OS ( Big Sur), download WD Utilities and post some messing around, it magically got detected. Once, its detected there are no issues and works great !

Disque dur externe correct, pas de soucis à signaler pour l'instant, mais dommage qu'il n'utilise pas plutôt un port USB-C.
