The 6.5" Red Foam Waxing Pads (Set of 2) are expertly designed for use with waxes and sealants, featuring premium open-cell foam for durability and tear resistance. The micro hook-and-loop system ensures secure attachment, while the tough thermoset bonding allows for machine washing, making them a practical choice for both hand and orbital applications.

A good tip: I soak the pad in a mixture ...
I've been using Griot's products for years and these waxing pads do exactly what they're meant to do. This is replacing the older Griot's waxing pad that lasted almost 2 years which I used numerous times on waxing our 2 full size suvs along with a couple other vehicles belonging to my parents and brother. A good tip: I soak the pad in a mixture of Dawn liquid soap and water for about 10-15 mins before giving it a good rinse. It helps remove the majority of the built up wax on the pad and keeps the pad nice and clean for the next job.

Great product, but sucks up a lot!
As the headline says, uses a lot of product. That, in turn, makes application take longer and cleanup nearly impossible. I tried cleaning out all of the leftover sealant from the foam but it wasn't enough and some dried up inside the foam. It's right on the affordability spectrum where buying a new one for every application isn't that bad, so if you can afford it, I recommend going that route. Otherwise try finding something that reviews say doesn't absorb too much.

Awesome pad!
Awesome pad!! It does suck up product, but otherwise it holds together and spreads wax and polish evenly. So here's my run down scale 1-10, 10 being awesome, 1 being don't use or buy:Durability (does the pad maintain form with multiple use, that is it does not flake up gunk up or fall apart): 10Usability ( can the pad be used for more than one application): 10Absorption (how much product does the pad absorb): 7Spread (how well does the pad spread product): 10Abrasiveness ( can you use it for heavy cutting): 1 **This pad is soft, you could use it for lite swirls or very lite scratches***Overall, the pad is good, I used it to spread paste wax, micro polish, regular wax. The only caveat to this pad is it takes FOR EV ER to dry if you wash it out.

Griots Disappoints Again
I should have known better, I was disappointed with Griot's Garage products in the past. There were good reviews and I needed some small pads to door jams and small spaces. The pads are no different, disappointing. I have been detailing cars for a long time so it isn't my experience level. These left a haze and hologram effect that took some effort to correct. My experience in the past with Griot's Garage products was their 5' Buffer and Pad set. I ended up returning that because the pads sunk in the middle, and started separating from the velcro, in other words, garbage. The foam pads have very little cutting power, and due to the dense flat surface, they heat up quickly even with Pad Conditioner. I will never buy Griot's products again.

Great little waxing pad
Have used Griot’s full size pads several times on my other vehicles.Picked up used Corvette with which has a lot of sharper angles and not a lot of large, flat areas.Used the 3” pad which worked wonders in tight places. So happy with the results. Will note that I had to turn down the buffers speed as this pad tends to distort more than the full size. Not a problem, just an adjustment to make. Also, since smaller, less build up of wax compared to full sizeWill see how well they hold up

Would be perfect if you could use the waxing pad more than ...
Would be perfect if you could use the waxing pad more than once. I use Zaino wax. I hand washed in warm water, let dry, and months later went to wax the car again. Started waxing like before and suddenly the pad shot off mid-wax. I turned the orbital off as soon as possible and held it off my paint. Luckily, I don't see any scratches. I immediately recognized that the loop/hook backing was still on the orbital and the red pad was several feet away on the floor. I was on the lowest speed for the orbital. I was not pushing hard at all, I'm a woman and was already tired since I was on the last panel of the truck I was waxing. The product was simply poorly made. It can't be too difficult to find a better way of attaching the loop/hook and the pad. These products are not advertised as one time use or disposable. I feel I should be able to use them at least a full season, especially when following proper care instructions. I have 2 packs of 3 each waxing pads and all but the 1 still unused have the loop/hook backing pulling away, except for the 1 that I had to throw away because it ripped off completely in the scenario above.

Decent option
I purchased a dozen or so items from this manufacture of previously, and I’ve always been very happy with her detail products. I would say I am adequately satisfied with this purchase, as the pads were easy to use, but very difficult to clean. It does indicate on the packaging some steps to clean them, but I would say they are more disposable than anything else.

Never used foam before.
I bought the Griot's garage 6" random orbital polisher and the buffing pads because the pads were also available locally if I needed an extra. It's been a long time since I buffed and polished a car and I was worried about swirls that you would sometimes get with the older buffers and the terry cloth covers. But I watched A LOT of videos online so I felt comfortable with today's foam pads.

Simple pad selection. Highly effective.
I love the Griot's pad system of just three colors: orange, red and black. Really only two matters: orange and red. Which was really all they had a while back. Black was just something they threw in recently. This is far less confusing than 7-8 variations of pads, different colors and pad patterns, and having to guess which one works best for your application. With Griots, you only have to worry about 2. Orange or red, and they work well for the average joe like me. However, I understand that others that need to correct very deep scratches or other detailing work may not appreciate the small selection of pads from Griots.I use the orange to apply scratch removers like Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 and on medium speeds Mother's Pure Polish Step 1. I used the red on low speeds to apply my sealants and waxes. Works like a charm. My scratches are gone. My swirls have mostly disappeared, and my paint shined like it was new. They are pretty well made and nothing has detached or anyway so far, as I've read from other pad makers. The only thing I hated was the price. At $26+ a pop, they get pretty expensive. Fortunately, they sell these in 3 packs at a greatly reduced cost that is comparable to aftermarket pads like Lake Country pads when you factor in shipping costs. I used one orange for scratch removal, another orange for polish, and I've saving one for future usage. For waxes, I used one red for half the car and another for the second half, and again saving one for future use.Great stuff. Highly recommend.

Muy buen kit
ideal para pulidoras de 3 pulgadas, solo hay que tener cuidado al quitarlo de la base y jalar desde abajo para no desprenderlo del velcro
