What is the open spot on his back

It’s part of the titan hero power fx pack which means that opening needs the fx power pack to talk or make noise. The power packs are interchangeable with the others in same series so if you buy a different superhero and he has the power fx accessory you can use it on Loki. Look under power fx and a bunch should pop up

how do you find the blast gear for Loki?

There is no specific blast gear for Loki.

Does Loki talk? Added power port and only crashing sounds?

No talking or added features. Also my 3 year old pulled the horns off the first day. We had to super glue them back on.

Is this action figure waterproof?

It is not a toy that is made to be in the water all the time like bath toys or pool toys. But, my son plays with his in the tub every once in a while and it doesn't hurt them. I always make sure to get them out right away and dry them off just to be safe. He has a large number of the collection and they have ALL held up very well for the amount of play/use they get.
