The design in the quality material used in these bird houses is exceptional. I look forward to using them for many seasons to come.

It is smaller than I thought, but the house wren went into it right away. It has a rough finish on it. I didn't try to seal it because I read that it isn't good for birds to have paint or chemical sealers on birdhouses. I haven't tried to clean it yet because we just got it. The access seems like it will be all right. I'll see how it is when they are done with it. I will also see how waterproof it is at that time.

UPDATE: In my initial review I pointed out the need for a perch. This birdhouse has no perch and birds can't use it without a perch. So they won't use it. But I liked it enough to buy a second one. Good quality aside from the perch issue. Has venting. And I know I will need to add a perch to this one. Last time I drilled a small hole and inserted a piece of chopstick to be used as a perch. WISH THIS GREAT BIRDHOUSE WAS MADE WITH A PERCH. I recommend it only if you add a perch.This was the birdhouse I was looking for. I am happy about the size and the venting. I like that it comes with the hanger wire cord attached. I did note at time of purchase that there was no perch. I have had some birdhouses similar to this and they don't get used without a perch for the birds. So I drilled a small hole in front and used a rubber mallet to gently pound in an ever so slightly larger piece of a chopstick. Worked fine. Drilling just a slightly smaller size than the perch I inserted worked and provided stability without use of glue. In the end it is good. It just really should not be sold without a perch or birds won't use it.

Cute birdhouse but bottom removable wood strip is very fragile. It broke with very gently handling. Wood glue and clamps hopefully will keep it together. The bottom opening is very narrow and small. It looks like it'll be very difficult to clean out although I haven't needed to yet. It's a cute small birdhouse though. I sprayed the outside with clear varnish to keep it looking new.

This bluebird house is well put together, will be easy to clean after nesting next year as front doog swings open. I would love it if there was a means to hang it on a fence by adding a metal piece to attach to a screw head. the holes are great but being 75 years young, I have to hire someone to attach it to a fence by drilling holes in the fence and adding a screw.
