Works with my Pioneer
I used this as part of my setup to get an HDMI port on my deck, now we can plug in anything including our phones to show on the deck. Super cool.

Needed for Kenwood
Kenwood uses a particular order to the signals that isn’t common so this cable is needed. I’ts a bit pricey. Worked great for my Excelon.

Expensive, but necessary for Kenwood
I just installed a Kenwood head unit in my car. It's AV/in port is 3.5 mm jack. It's critical to know that not all 3.5 mm jacks are wired the same. Many alternatives you find on Amazon for $6-$10 won't work with Kenwood. It requires the following pattern: from tip to sleeve (tip = left channel, ring = right channel, ring = ground, sleeve = video).Paying a little extra for this is worth it to make it work. Also, it has a nice long chord so this can be routed into the arm-rest if desired. That's where I put mine. It's three starts only due to price.

This is the right cable for mirroring a smartphone to an aftermarket radio head
This cable costs more than other cables but this is the correct one for mirroring my smartphone to my Pioneer radio head. Obviously, it'll work with Kenwood radios with a 3.5 mm AV jack but it'll probably work with other brands also. Other cables look like this Kenwood cable but they're wired differently. So, spend the extra bucks and get the right cable.

REQUIRED! Alternatives will not work
If you want to mirror a phone to your kenwood (and other brands I’m sure) this cable is required. I tried a cheaper cable that LOOKED the same but it didn’t work.As soon as I decided to spend the $34 this one worked just fine.If you want to mirror your phone, it is worth the $30 some dollars to do it right.

Non-standard, expensive cable
Here's the reason some people are spending way to much money on this cable to be able to connect their audio/video composite devices to their vehicle's Kenwood head unit:The standard arrangement for almost all video/audio cables is to have the red (right audio) connection be the tip contact on the plug, the white (left audio) connection be the first ring on the plug (next to the tip), the yellow (video) connection be to the second ring on the plug and the ground (metal outside of red, white and yellow connections) be the "sleeve" or third ring of the plug. But the internal socket for the plug on Kenwood head units is wired in a non-standard way. So Kenwood wants you to have to use this non-standard cable to be able to correctly match colors when you plug in to the cable.BUTIf you're careful, you can use a regular standard cable (available online for $2 - $4) by doing this:1. Plug the Yellow connector coming from your device into the Red connector on the standard cable so the video signal is on the tip of the plug.2. Plug the White connector coming from your device into the White connector on the standard cable so the left audio signal is on the first ring of the plug.3. Plug the Red connector coming from your device into the Yellow connector on the standard cable so the right audio signal is on the second ring of the plug. That's all you have to do to avoid having to buy this expensive cable. Kenwood switched the red and yellow connections for some reason, perhaps to make people spend too much money on a non-standard cable.Who knows?

Works perfectly as it should.
Perfect able to get a/v input into my Kenwood head unit with this cable. I bought those cheap $6 video cable that looks exactly the same, only problem is it wouldn't work. I was nervous I was gonna spend $30 on the Kenwood wire and have the same outcome but to my surprise is showed video. Now I am able to mirror my phone to my head unit and am very happy
