A shockingly candid and raw autobiography from legendary anchorman, jazz flutist, and host of The Ron Burgundy Podcast, Ron Burgundy. From his humble beginnings in a desolate Iowa coal mining town, his years at Our Lady Queen of Chewbacca High School to his odds-defying climb to the dizzying heights of becoming America’s most trusted and beloved television News Anchor, Ron Burgundy pulls no punches in Let Me Off at the Top ! In his very own words Burgundy reveals his most private thoughts, his triumphs and his disappointments. His life reads like an adventure story complete with knock-down fights, beautiful women and double-fisted excitement on every page. He has hunted jackalopes with Bobby Kennedy and Peter Lawford, had more than his share of his amorous exploits, and formed the greatest on-air team in the history of televised news. Along the way, he hobnobbed with people you wish you knew and some you honestly wish you didn’t—celebrities, presidents, presidents' wives, celebrities' wives, dogs, and, of course Veronica Corningstone, the love of his life. Walter Cronkite, Barbra Streisand, Katie Couric, the list goes on. Who didn’t Mr. Burgundy, or “Ron” as he is known to his friends, rub elbows with in the course of his colorful and often criminal life? This may well be the most thrilling book ever written, by a man of great physical, moral and spiritual strength and not surprisingly a great literary talent as well. This book deserves a real shot at a Pulitzer Prize. In fact if it doesn’t win one then we will finally have proof that the Pulitzer is rigged. Ron Burgundy has taken the time to write a book. We owe it to him, as honest Americans, to read it. Review: If you dig both Anchorman movies, this is a must own book. Simply brilliant. An audio book version would be even better. - This book had my laughing out loud it was so dang funny. If you loved both Anchorman movies, you will love this book. The only thing better would be an audio version of this book with the man himself Ron Burgundy reading the book out loud. As you read this book, you can totally hear Ron's voice in the stories. I'm not going to lie to you - many of the stories might be a bit hard to believe, but we all know Ron is man who has done many things in his life so it is best not to be a doubter when Ron is the topic of discussion. The stories are hilarious and over the top. Next up the old news crew should do a book on the life stories of Brick, Champ and Brian. That would be a most excellent companion piece to the Ron Burgundy book. So if you dig the movies, you should pick up this masterwork by the man himself. Jim Review: Best Stocking Stuffer Since The Chocolate Orange!! - This is exactly what I was expecting, a fun, detailed account of Ron Burgundy's rise to the top of the news anchor world. It's a bit surreal, and a bit rambling, at times, this is true. However, any true fan of the docudramedy, Anchorman, and of Ron Burgundy himself will hear the dulcet tones of Mr. Burgundy's voice throughout the telling of this gripping and at times, hilarious, story and be compelled to keep reading. It is almost as though Mr. Burgundy himself of calling to you, the reader, as a siren calls a lost sailor to the jagged rocks on the shore. The result of these calls is pure joy, delight, and even a few sentimental tears, and not the death cries of shipmates, so all in all, this book is more successful than a siren call. Where was I? Ah, yes, Let Me Off At The Top should be at the top of your holiday wish list, along with a bottle of scotchy, scotch, scotch to enjoy while reading what may be called by future literary scholars the most important autobiography committed to papyrus.

I was dying of laughter within the first 5 pages!
This is hysterical. I literally spent all night reading it cover to cover. It will become more hysterical if you take the time and watch all 3 anchorman movies- Anchorman, Anchorman 2, and Anchorman: Wake up Ron Burgundy. You will start naturally reading it in his voice in your head, and if this was a movie, I'd be pissing my knickers. A GREAT BUY if you love satire or Will Farrell in general!

You out did yourself Ron
I struck a gold mine when stumbled upon this book. I have been attending college for two years now. This book made me realize how useless those two years have been. Everything I have ever needed to know about life is right here in this book for $7.99. I can only wish to be a fraction of this man. After reading this book you will see that your whole life has been a lie. Make it easier on yourself and erase everything your parents have told you about everything before reading this magnificent book. I am truely unworthy of having the name Ron. The only problem I found with the book was the fact that Ron put a price on this book. The cover alone is worth more than my house. This book should be in a museum somewhere.

Pretty good.
Have this on Kindle; it is comedy gold for about the first 30%. Had me crying from laughing too hard. The next 20% is pretty good, but then the last half is okay to lame (a lot like Anchorman 2). Still, if you love The Legend, you won't be second guessing your purchase.

It's finally here. Ron, it took you long enough, damnit.
These are the words you'll be saying on your deathbed: I read a hell of a book. Take it from me. I've only read the front flap and the disclaimer before the preface -- and boy was I impressed. Now, you may know who I am. I've been known to sing a bit. Croon a few. Goulet. Ron and I go way back. He and I used to hunt giant frogs on the shoulders of silverbacks in the Congonese jungles. Let me tell you, Ron is as every bit a man as he says he is...and then some. I remember the time when he and Baxter saved me from drowning in the jacuzzi up at my San Diegan penthouse. Those were the days. Enough scotch and cocaine to take on the Dragon in that new Hobbit movie. But that's neither here nor there. Goulet. You know, it brings a tear to my eye when I look on the cover of Ron's book and see a man that I want to hate but can't -- because he's my blood brother. I mean seriously. One night, after bare-chested mountain wrestling on the slopes of Kinnick Kinnick, we used a hamburger spatula to slice open the skin just above our nipples. We embraced each other like men, mixed our blood as if on the barbarian battlefields of old. Ever since, Ron's career has taken off, and I couldn't be happier, albeit with a mixture of jealous rage. Ron, thanks for telling your story. It's about damn time. - Robert Goulet

Humor was great, but got old
I enjoy Anchorman (haven't had a chance to see the 2nd one yet, unforunately) and have seen it multiple times. This book is obviously the same type of humor, which is great. The jokes are funny for the most part, and is entertaining, but dries up the last 1/3 of the book. At the beginning I was laughing frequently, near the end, it was becoming a struggle. Still overall, if you're into the movie, you know what to expect, and I suggest it.

Truly a remarkable piece of literature
This book should not only be required in all schools, it should be required in all life. I worked with Ron vegans for a short while in El Paso and he changed lives. I have never seen so many inmates turn their life around I'm one night of being incarcerated. When I found out he wrote a book I camped outside Barnes and Noble for for a week to get it. Needless to say I was arrested for loitering and just got out of prison after I broke my parole Rollin a doobie with some punk kid name Justin bieber or something. Anyway Ron burgundy is a man of intellectual integrity and more writers like this need to emerge from the darkness.

A fun read
You know a book is funny when you catch yourself laughing out loud over the BS you just read. Also it contains important advices on life and interesting information about the creation of Mexico. To anyone who liked the Anchorman movies, as well as Will Ferrell in general, I can only recommend this book.

The origin of Ron Burgundy
You need to be a wild Will Ferrell fan to buy this. It's really like watching a whole new flick, while reading you will feel Ron Burgundy is actually narrating in your head😀.
