Didn't work
I did a lg water change and ran this company's complete filter media for 24 hours before using this in there reactor. Didn't help at all I even tried another test kit to make sure mine wasn't wrong

Alas, don't use it if you have plant life in your tank
even if cyano or grown/green algae are present in the tank, you'll probably be trying to regenerate the product after it stains. the process includes using lye...It definitely soaks up nitrates np, but rather expensive to keep using if it fouls every time.. I was also using a FX5 with the blue pads, so maybe if I would have added the white pad it might have been alright, but I would think even a little discolored water stains it (kinda like purigen, but definitely don't have to use lye to regen it)

Trying to get it to work
I recently ordered nitratelock and it has been running for a about a week. I tried testing the water directly out of the reactor. There is absolutely NO difference between the tank water and the water coming directly out of the reactor. I would assume that there would be some difference since the water is not flowing all that fast out of the reactor. I also tried recharging it as per directions. Nothing. I have a 120 salt water tank. I've spent a lot of time, effort and money trying to see a difference in nitrates.
