Amazing flavor
Was surprised by the lack of "after taste" I'm used too having with sugar free candies

WOW, how dreadful.
I purchased Dr. John’s Sugar-Free, Black Licorice, and Peppermint Hard Candy. I had also ordered the Chocolart and the Ulitmate Hard Candy Collection, but I did not try them as they contained the same sweetener ingredient. The candy has a prevailing bitter flavor, but the worst was the after-tasting that lingered for 30 to 40 minutes after I removed the candy from my mouth. The flavor was similar to tonic water, which tastes slightly bitter, with a hint of sweetness and a citrus flavor. The candy flavor is present, but the bitter flavor is predominant. The cost of this candy was $90.37 with sales tax. I do not require a refund, but if you order this candy, make sure you order a small amount to try first.

Finally, a peppermint I can enjoy without worrying about my teeth
These peppermints are just what's advertised--sugar-free peppermint hard candy. They don't have any of the cloying fake-sweet taste of sugar substitutes, although they do have xylitol and erythritol. I have an auto-immune disease that causes a dry mouth, which puts my teeth at risk. These candies taste great, and sucking on them helps to relieve the dry mouth symptoms while also protecting my teeth. They are more hard/solid than most peppermints, with a consistency similar to a Werther's toffee candy, so they last longer--which is also helpful. I'm so glad I found these.

The flavor isn't bad, per se, but it's not the same as regular peppermints
Before trying these, I had tried Brach's sugar free star brights, which taste identical to regular peppermints, but the sweetener in them caused me GI issues if I had more than one or two a day. These were much more expensive -- about 3x the price! So I was pretty disappointed that they weren't sweet. There's a lot of mint flavor to them, and I think that perhaps the sweetness kicks in later. I sort of tasted the mint before plunking it in hot chocolate (which is why I buy mints!) So they might be better if I gave them more time. I have tried the multiflavored ones from this brand too. Those were okay, but even though I love lemon drops, they were too sour and not enough sweet, but others were great, just like Jolly Ranchers. So I think the overall brand is hit or miss, at least in my opinion.

Not sweet, very peppermint-y
Ok, if you cannot have added sugars in your life, and have the problems associated with maltitol type sweeteners; Dr John's Healthy Sweets are the way to go. Delicious, healthy, no tummy upsets. However, the peppermints, that I was so excited about, and waited months for whilst they were out of stock, are so strong with the peppermint oil, and so very light on any type of sweetness, they taste like a medicinal lozenge.Great to have for reasons other than candy, I took one for a tummy ailment and it helped immeasurably. I am just saddened that I still cannot replace the dish of hard candies I used to keep on my desk. It's ok though, the lollipops are (insert your favorite superlative here) FANTASTIC!

Yuck
Very expensive for what you get. The taste is very odd, like weird peppermint. Not refreshing like I believe they should be.

The best!
My favorite! I love the no dyes and healthy sugars! And one peppermint lasts forever! Wayyyy longer than a traditional peppermint.
