Tthere was no grease on the moving parts. I added some grease from the part I removed.
Worked perfectly. It's only been for few days but so far so good.

Quick fix
Works great on 2014 Cadillac CTS coupe. Dealership kept "adjusting the lock" and was having issues with the trunk latching and getting the "open trunk" light on the dash. Installed in about 10 minutes and saved me another trip to the dealership where they obviously have no idea what they're doing.
