Well designed, easy to use device.
This little press works great and I couldn't be happier with it. It operates smoothly and with far less effort than I had expected. Don't know if that's because the apples I pressed had been grated in my food processor rather than just chopped, but that's how I plan to prepare everything since I'm working on a small scale. A few things I found out during my first use. First, do NOT THROW AWAY the plastic sleeve the perforated tube comes packaged in; it is a "splash guard" that you may need to keep from being squirted with juice (I didn't tempt fate and work w/o it). Second, you need to use a wrench to tighten the nuts that hold the inverted V shaped uprights in place or juice will leak out onto your work surface. I finger tightened them first and created a mess. I may even get neoprene washers to create a tighter seal but I'm not sure that will be necessary; I'll be able to tell for sure with the second use once I start with everything bone dry and see if there are any leaks now. Third, I did not find it necessary to bolt the very bottom tray to a board to keep the base from spinning. The plastic bottom tray seemed to provide enough traction, which was nice because I set the press on the kitchen countertop right next to the sink and had my collection container in the sink. It would have been hard to clamp a board down since my countertops have very little overhang. I think this tray is essential though, because otherwise the press rests on four metal acorn nut "feet" and would likely spin easily. Finally, I contacted the seller to ask about replacement pressing bags and sleeves and received a prompt and helpful reply. They sell both as well as additional bottom trays.

Well Built and quality stainless steel
This is a fantastic product and works very well. I built a small stool for holding the press in-place while juicing, which is fixed to the floor will screws. As previously stated, the product is fantastic. However, as it's man-made you can experience challenges. After about 20 uses, the cross-bar became stiff to turn beyond a certain point. I suppose i was required to constantly lubricate (with food grade lubricant) the threads on the cross bar which i wasn't.You should buy this product but always remember to lubricate the thread on the cross-bar.

Just What I Needed
This press is small but for my small batches it was great. This is the first press I've even owned so I can't compare it to anything. I was able to fit about almost 4000 grams (what's that, about 8.8 pounds) of shredded pears in and on the first press I reduced the solids to 2.6 pounds yielding 63% of the weight in juice.Getting the T-bar into the holding contraption is a real pain most every time I do it, and I end up cussing a little then it goes in finally. It's hard to do even with the thing empty - I don't know why. There needs to be just a little more wiggle room at the top of the steel strainer. Also, no tips/instructions/care info was sent at all. The small bit of hose that attaches to the spout (approx 6 inches long) could be longer, like a couple of feet longer so that the pan will drain into a bucket on the floor. I mean, this is a tabletop press - how are you supposed to drain it with a six inch hose? I ended up putting the press on top of a small one gallon bucket and placing the drain hose into a container on the counter top beside the bucket. That made the handle awfully tall to start out.Pros: small, all stainless steel except the collection pan, comes with a great and so far durable nylon mesh bag,Cons: small (if you want to do a lot), aggravating to get t-bar into place

The only way to go! Simply fantastic!
Having made crab apple jelly for years the old fashioned, laborious way. This press who absolutely fantastic. I cut hours off pressing the cooked apples into apple juice. I pressed enough to make 38-cups of juice. I double bagged (5) 7-cups and (1) 3-cups of juice per gal. ziploc plastic bag (double bag for strength) and laid them flat in my freezer. This way I can continue the process of making jelly anytime I want. Love it!!!!

Need Something more Automatic
Somewhat useful, but nut milk is still a labor of love and this presents cleaning up as a problem. Need to continue looking for something more automatic.

but once I can figure out some kind of clamping method I think it will work far better. Just kind of a mediocre design really
I make small 1 gallon batches of fruit wine (i.e. not grapes, but cherries, blueberries, etc) and for that this suffices. My biggest pet peeve is that it is far too light, and so instead of vertical motion when I try to twist the screw, the whole thing just turns instead. This makes it very difficult for one person to use. So far I've just been settling for much less juice as I can't really put much leverage into it as I have to hold it straight as I turn it, but once I can figure out some kind of clamping method I think it will work far better. Just kind of a mediocre design really.

Weak design, limited application use product.
I purchased this for pressing wine grapes. I've use this press twice so far and probably will not use it again for this purpose. The build is not sturdy enough to generate the amount pressure to extract all or most of the fruit juice. The base is light and flimsy, the crank is short and hard to operate, basket does not fit properly and tends to lift when pressure is applied. I tried using the bag, but the amount of juice I extracted was minuscule. I believe it can be used for softer fruits, like strawberries, blueberries? It will not work well for larger and harder fruits such as apples, grapes, pineapple etc.

This is a tool that will last!
Bomb proof! When you get this unit you will be IMPRESSED! It is heavy, strongly built and just pulling it out of the box it inspires confidence. And it should! You can tell by looking at the screw that this will create a great deal of pressure! I read the reviews of other fruit presses and looked at how they were made. I don't understand how any of them survive. This unit has saved us many hours of frustration. Pressing and squeezing by hand previously, this has made our chores much more pleasant. But more important, this is a high quality piece of equipment that you know won't let you down under the heavy stress it will have to endure.
