I work construction, I'm in my truck all day, the desk can stay on the steering wheel all day or easy to come off

My steering wheel (2013 ram) is 38mm wide. this item doesn't appear will work?

Not without a modification. I have a RAM 2013. I got this product to work out of my car when on the jobsite. RAM steering wheels are thicker than most. I knew this going in and was prepared to have to do a modification: To get the hooks to fit I took a blow torch to them. One second on, one second off. Slowly. keeping an eye on the plastic and slowing down/stopped if anything started to smoke. after a minute or so the plastic became malleable enough to open up the spacing on the hooks. Bingo, fits.

Will it fit an 18 in steering wheel for a semi?

I think it would since it hangs from the top of the steering wheel
