53 Piece Pottery Tool Kit

I am a fine art student with a concentration in ceramics, sculpture, and 3D work. I bought this set for my classes so I could work in my home studio as well without having to use classroom tools or borrow them. I've used this set nearly every day for the past month before reviewing it. I'm glad I purchased this. This set is awesome. They're very sturdy and durable! They've worked well with terracotta, air dry clay, plaster, and sculpting/smoothing spackle. The ribs work very well. I was able to use the loop tools on soft leather and leather clay without putting any tension or stress on the tools. This set is great for beginners and seasoned artists. I think it contains more than a beginner needs but has everything for a growing artist who will eventually use more tools as they expand their work and needs. I wish a shaver was included. The only downside is the clear plastic case because it's too small to carry the whole kit in a realistic setting. Sure, it all fits from the manufacturer, but once it gets unpacked and used, it becomes an impossible game of Tetris that is unrealistic. It arrived cracked but as a student in a messy studio, it wasn't an issue to me or worth contacting for support since I know it would have cracked in my backpack sooner or later. The case still functions, I just use a rubber band to keep it closed. I wish it came with a shaver to have a complete set but not a problem either way. You still get your money's worth for sure!

It's great! It is a small kit but with quite enough and varied tools for different functions, that altogether make it quite complete! Every tool in the kit has their special function so each of them is very useful in it's own way, there are no "repeated functionalities", or one that can supersede another one, which is what I like. The tools have a beautiful smooth finish, are sturdy enough for regular sculpting tasks in clay and pottery, the case space is very well organized and it is very light and compact so it is really easy to carry. I totally love it, and also as an added value, it was acquired for a really great price! I'd totally recommend it for both begginers and professionals, it has all the tools that are required for basic and advanced sculpting.

There is A LOT here! It comes in a little plastic carrying case which is fine but it doesn't have room for anything else in it so I put it all in a larger container so I can add to it. I recently started taking a ceramics class and some other students have a roll out case, which I think I'd rather have so I can see all of the tools easily at once. Otherwise, the tools themselves work great and seem to be sturdy, lie they'll last a long time! I think I'll search Amazon for an empty rollout tool case...
