A Southern Breeze with a Touch of Thunder: My Affair with the EGO POWER+ Combo
There are summer afternoons in this life when the air hangs heavy, and a man must take it upon himself to clear a path — not just through his yard, but through the quiet oppressions that gather in the corners of his spirit. I brought home the EGO POWER+ Combo, with its proud 15-inch trimmer and its handsome 530 CFM blower, like a gentleman returning with fine gifts from the city. The blower — ah, the blower is a marvel. It can be coaxed into a gentle sigh, a breeze so tender it will sweep a walkway clean without disturbing the careful bed of mulch nearby, like brushing a stray hair from a lady’s temple without waking her. But when the hour calls for resolve, it will roar — drive back the stubborn clutter on the driveway and patio, even send those swarming lanternflies scattering like gossip on a hot veranda. There’s a “turbo” setting, and I confess, I have used it with a little too much satisfaction. The trimmer was another story, at first. In its youth — and mine with it — the cut was clean, the work steady. But as the line wore down, I found it merely laying the grass flat, as if it had grown weary of the fight. Heavy weeds would yield, yes, but the common grass mocked me. I coaxed the string forward by hand more than once, and I nearly despaired. But then… as if a stubborn mule finally took to the reins, the line began to feed as it should. With a good length of string, it found its vigor — slicing through light brush, grass, and weeds alike. These tools take the same battery as my faithful push mower — a union that pleases me greatly. The mower’s strength and reliability had already convinced me of the EGO name, and now I can pass the same current, the same pulse of power, between mower, trimmer, and blower. The larger mower battery weighs a bit more than the trimmer’s own, but it lasts — oh, it lasts. So I find myself, on these quiet Southern afternoons, standing in the cleared path I have made, the air free of debris, the weeds humbled. And I think: the work is easier when your tools are true, and your heart is steady. I recommend them both.

Excellent, powerful tools!
Both tools are very powerful and well engineered, as is my Ego lawnmower. The blower has enough power to pile up wet leaves. Here. in the soggy Pacific North West, we have a huge Canadian (or Big Leaf Maple) cluster of trees in our yard. These leaves are about ten inches wide, and when they get wet it takes a lot to move them. This is the first non-gasoline blower I've used that is up to the task! The battery life on Ego power tools is terrific- I can mow my yard several times without a charge, and the batteries are interchangable. I also love the "no muss no fuss" nature of the electric tools-- no carburetor issues like my gas tools inevitabley had, and no need to mess with gasoline- just turn them on and go! Added Bonus: the blower doubles as a cannon when my Grandson is visiting- it'll shoot a tennis ball about twelve feet!

Great light weight devices and battery holds a good charge
So far the products are working out great. I've used it several times since purchasing and the battery life is pretty good. I used the 2.5 AH battery on the weed eater and have had no issues weed eating and edging my yard. I live on about 8500 sq ft property and use about 1/2 to 2/3 the battery. I got a 5.0 AH through another deal and have used that with the leaf blower and that uses about 1/3 to 1/2 of that battery. So the 2.5 AH battery should work for the leaf blower as well. Depending on the size of your property, it might not be able to work for both a leaf blower and weed eater with out charge. The weed eater has good speed and power and the the battery on both devices is pretty light. All in all, no complaints

Love these EGO products
Bought these to maintain a small patch of grass. Moved to a different house with almost an acre of lawn after 2 years, and still using these for weekly lawn care, though I had to get an additional battery for the bigger lawn. Overall, the cordless function, powerful blower, and trimmer are amazing, and extremely low maintenance compares to other gas products.

Very capable, comparable to gas powered tools without the fuel hassle
This is a combo of a string trimmer and a blower. The string trimmer works very well and has plenty of power to trim the grass around the house and to use as an edger when turned upside down. As an edger it uses a lot of line. Feeding the line is very easy but I went through all the line it came with just using it twice on my yard which is about 1/3 acre. That said, I still prefer it much over the gas powered one I used to have. No more worrying about the gas/oil leaving stains on clothing or having the fuel lines rot over time. This one also starts every time. Reloading line is a bit tricky but after doing it a couple times it worked well.Blower is amazingly strong, especially in boost mode. In that mode, it’s stronger than my gas blower. It is also well balanced and light. What surprised me the most is the battery life. I used the same 2Ah battery for both trimmer and blower and after using it for about an hour it finally ran out. That is more than I usually need. Battery also seems to charge pretty quickly.Overall, I would recommend this pair. I went with Ego because I am thinking about getting an electric mower as well next year and ego seems to be the best choice for me. I wanted to make sure I get everything from the same brand so I can interchange the batteries.

Worth the money
Lighter weight than old one we had. Easy to just grab and use . Powerful enough to complete the job. Appreciate the interchangeable batteries within the Ego line.

Skeptic on cordless yard equipment gets sold on cordless EGO!
I use to be skeptical on battery operated yard equipment for the longest time, then I finally found something at a price I was willing to take a chance on. I have had these for 2 summers now, and they both work as if they were brand new, battery still holds its charge like a champ and have had no issues.

DON'T BUY THIS SET. 2.5Ah battery included in the set is basically garbage.
Expect to pay DOUBLE for the trimmer and blower set, because you WILL need to buy a much bigger battery and one extra battery costs roughly as much as this whole set. For a very tiny city lot, this would be great, but anything more than maybe quarter acre, hard pass. The 2.5Ah battery included has a very short runtime. It is essentially a demo battery, never lasting more than maybe 15 minutes. I fully charged it straight from the package exactly as in the instructions and have NEVER gotten the listed "60+" or "75+" minute run time. That is an absolute joke, where the punchline is you have to buy another one of their batteries. I think the longest run time I got was maybe 20 minutes on the initial charge, if even that. It isn't even hot outside, and I brought the battery into the air conditioned house, allow it to cool before recharging, and then cool again after recharging before using.I bought these to replace my 10 year old set of Worx, and these batteries perform the same as the 10 year old batteries on the Worx I already had. The Ego trimmer and blower themselves are great, for the short period they are usable before the battery runs out. For the absolutely enormous size and weight of these batteries I was entirely disappointed. If you love having to stop and wait numerous times to complete the job, then this is the tool set for you. Buy a hammock with this set, because you're going to have a lot of time on your hands waiting for the battery to recharge before you can get back to work.Update after not quite a year of usage:DO NOT BUY THIS SET, IT IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!Hasn't even been one full year yet and the trim head on this is completely wore off round. There is nothing to get any grip on to turn the head to feed more line into it. I've only ever used the bump head in thick grass, never ever on concrete or anything abrasive like rocks or even sand. Absolutely HATE refilling the spool on this thing! It's actually great at trimming, but every time I have to reload the head I want to break it in half and throw it right in the garbage can.The blower is ok, but not with the tiny 2.5Ah battery that comes with this set if you use it on high. And seriously, who is buying a blower to use it not on the high setting most of the time anyhow? No one does that - that is why they market blowers as having more CFM than the competition. Get an awful lot of use out of that turbo button, so not really impressed with the blower either. You will never get 75 minutes run time out of the 2.5Ah battery in this set. That is completely false advertising. Not on these tools in this set. I've never gotten more than 20 minutes out of this 2.5 Ah battery. The 4.0Ah battery lasts me maybe 30-40 minutes. And I have absolutely babied these batteries for not quite a year now. I never leave them out in the heat, never in the hot garage or shed. I never use them in the hottest part of the day. I always let them cool for like an hour or more before I remember to put them on the charger for next time. Always let them cool overnight after charging, never hot off the charger. And I always check the battery capacity button before I bother to try using them.Bottom line: This set is completely junk and I wish I never wasted my money on it. If you're determined to stick with Ego, save up and get one of the trimmers with the auto-reloading head. I think Ego calls it the "Powerload" head. Do NOT waste your money on any Ego battery smaller than 4.0Ah unless your yard fits on a postage stamp. if the Ego battery doesn't say "Arc" on it, it's going to be too small and get swapped out. Based on this set, I don't think I'd buy Ego ever again. Maybe a Powerload head trimmer if there was a huge sale because I already have invested in the 4Ah Arc battery.
