The Lord of The Rings Chess Set: Battle for Middle-Earth

I just received it today at my door and felt like a kid again opening the box and put ting the pieces on the board! As a fan of Lord of the Rings and chess I think this is a chess set that is very well done and definitely worth the money I paid. It's a beautiful set and the pieces are not small at all. Being able to play chess with it and recognize the various pieces is easy. And having pieces like this will add to your enjoyment of the game of chess as you begin and get into the game itself. Seeing who's threatening and where it's coming from using these figures develops chess into a meaningful fantasy battlefield! Visualizing not an abstract chess piece, but instead characters in Lord of the Rings really increases the excitement of the game. Regarding the Kings and Queens: I like how the designer put Gandalf in the white kind spot with Galadriel at his side. Placing Aragorn there with Arwen would have been an alternate way to design it. Regarding the Dark Side, I get placing Sauron and Saruman in those roles. But if you see the 2 wizards battling head to head (as I do), then place Saruman as the black king, and put Sauron in the black queen spot - matching him with the most powerful position on the dark side. Either way you set it up, it's a beautiful set with nicely sized pieces and worth the money.

My son loves LOTR and chess so this was the perfect gift for him. The quality of it is great.

Husband and kids had a great time playing this. The pieces were very detailed. They came in separate silky bags for protection. I suggest being very careful when you are playing and packing the pieces away. Pieces can break if not handled correctly.

A ver para cualquier fan está muy bien. Lo compré por eso, pero lo devolví porque le faltaba una pieza. Era para regalar y al final (aunque a la persona en cuestión le encantó) hemos cogido uno tradicional. El producto en sí está bien.

Excelente detallado, buenos materiales, pudieron agregar personajes, pero general muy buen producto.
