Bison Designs 38mm Wide Light Duty Belt with Black Buckle (Black, 38-Inch Maximum Waist/Medium)

I work construction and in the oilfield. This belt has not faded, the buckle has not rusted, it has remained very flexible, and most importantly it keeps your pants up no matter how soaked from rain or sweat you become. The nylon does not stain your shirt like leather belts can while wearing hot chemical or flare suits. If work in the heat or rain this belt will keep your pants where you want them.

This is definitely a light duty belt so I wouldn't be hanging off the side of a building using it to support my weight. But I'm a wildland firefighter and I bought it to wear for that and it works great. Holds my pants up. Holds my tools up. Easy on, easy off. Slips a little but not enough that I'm constantly having to readjust it. Fire season is just starting here so I'll update my review once I've had time to use it in the field. But for the $$$, it's a nice looking belt that I expect will work just fine.

Nice belt material. More of a working belt not that comfortable when sitting, cannot recommend for casual wear. It has a nice feel to it but the buckle can clink loudly and I find myself adjusting it more often than I should have to.

Owning several of the heavy-duty versions of this belt, I thought I'd try this model. It is basically the same belt in a single layer, rather than double layer, design. It is considerable lighter duty as advertised. The lack of a Velcro holding system as is on the HD model is a lacking that needs addressing. The end of the belt flops around and the belt will sometimes slip loose at the buckle. So I bought some black Velcro from a fabric store, sewed it on, and have a very nice light duty belt. If you modify the belt, my advice is to buy it XL and cut it down as necessary. Singe the end of the nylon where cut and you have a belt perfectly fitted to your specifications. Use about 4" to 5" of the hook side of the Velcro on the end of the belt and 8" of the soft side of Velcro where the end loops over and touches the belt. Leave about 2" of soft side exposed in case you gain or lose weight. Everything will stay put then.

Some reviews indicated that folks after looping the belt over the grip bar, rather than passing it through the V. Belt doesn't work if you loop it back, which explains those odd reviews. Pass the belt over the grip bar and through the V and you can hang from it. Solid belt. Great value. Make sure to melt the nylon over a candle after you cut it to size, so it doesn't fray.

I have some other Bison belts I’ve had for years. They have all been good quality. This one is heavier with a strong metal buckle. It be my go-to jeans belt!

Poor design - Does not stay secure... Ive tried to live with this belt, but have been dissatisfied with the product from day one. Stated as 1" webbing and actually 1 1/4". Belt secure/loop system is weak. will not stay secure when cinched. Appears robust but essentially worthless... cant return....and wont pass along....will find a use for the webbing....

I love these belts. They're not perfect but I think they're as close as it gets. They don't make me break out in a rash like just about every other belt on earth. Only two things worth mentioning... First, they don't last forever like a quality leather belt... They do fray over time on the part that goes though the buckle. Mine usually last maybe 2 years with every day wear. Also, it seems with the different colors the thickness and texture of the webbing varies slightly. The black seems a bit thinner and smoother making it a little harder to cinch tight. The graphite or Grey or whatever they call it is thicker and super easy to cinch. I'd call the grey good to go on carrying a pistol on, the black probably would be but may not be up to everyone's standards for a gun belt.

Very solid good looking belt.

Great for durability and value but the belt will eventually start to loosen its self off. I plan on adding Velcro to the slack in my belt to keep it from sliding loose. Great for station wear under turn-out gear or clipping my knife to while hiking.

This belt doest stay tight. Its loose in 5 mins. Huge pain.
