Way less expensive than most drug store brands but amazing quality and color for the win!
I've been coloring my hair for 40 years and have tried all the more expensive brands, as well as having it done at a salon. I mix two Colorsilk colors (this one with about 20% Auburn added) to get the perfect Dark Auburn, that doesn't look fake red. I always hated how "auburn" hair color usually looks pink or purple in the sun. So artificial looking and I prefer natural. Not only that, but this doesn't smell bad like most hair color. Quite pleasant. And it doesn't stain the skin the way most others do. It lasts a solid 4 weeks before root touch ups. And it's half the price of most other drug store brands. :)

Affordable beautiful color, glad I purchased this-a little bit darker than expected
I mixed the shades Deep Burgundy and Medium Ash Brown-I like the results although the color did turn out just a bit darker than what I was hoping for. You can really see the burgundy color when the light hits my hair and it’s pretty. The Deep Burgundy will make your hair pretty dark so just a fair warning here in case you don’t want to go that dark. I would say as a rule of thumb with most box colors (including this one) go a few shades lighter than what you want because they are notorious for being darker than what the picture shows. With that said I like this color and I switched from a much more expensive hair coloring kit to this one and I’m so glad that I did-what a huge money saver! It covered my grays nicely. Plus the color turned out nicely, the smell was much more bearable than other box colors that I’ve used (and the smell did NOT stay one my hair for days like my old hair color kit did), it was easy to use and worked great. If I got a little on my skin it was easy to wipe off and didn’t stain terribly. I am overall very pleased with their product and will continue to repurchase this and in the future maybe I will not mix as much of the Deep Burgundy shade in for a little bit more medium brown color.

Revlon, please don't stop making the Sun Blonde colors!
Revlon Colorsilk 95 Light Sun Blonde and 03 Ultralight Sun Blonde (I mix these 2 together). I have to order the 95 Sun Blonde online, so I'm afraid it may eventually be discontinued-I hope not. The Sun Blonde colors are very unique.I am 63 years old, and I have gotten FAR more fantastic compliments on these 2 mixed hair colors than any colors I have ever used. One hairstylist even said the color looked natural! I was afraid it might be too light, but some have said the color has brightened up my complexion (instead of washing it out). I am Caucasian but have a little bit of tan all year long.My natural hair color is a very ashy medium brown with maybe 25% to 40% gray. I've used several other boxed colors in the past, all gave me a lot of brass if I tried to go more than 2 levels above my natural color. These 2 colors mixed together are several levels above my natural color, this is the only one that has not given me brassy roots or brassy overall hair color. My hairstylist said to leave color on 45 minutes to cover gray, I leave it on a total of 1 hour because the colors are so light.I don't do it right--you're supposed to section the hair off and only color the roots, and color the rest of the hair no more than 10 minutes (I don't have the patience for that). I got a large hair color squirt bottle at Sally Beauty (15 oz) since I mix the 2 colors. I put the tip down through the hair and squirt in the color to the scalp, first around my temples (I dab color on the gray at my temples and hairline) and then above my ears and the hairline above my neck, then starting from the front to the back I squirt down color to the scalp for the the rest of the hair not yet colored. I feel with my fingers to make sure the color is spread evenly. I don't get missed dark spots if I use this bottle method, I did with bowl and brush. I'm messy and end up getting color over most of my hair anyway, and it's on most of my hair for the hour. With good conditioning it hasn't dried my hair out. (In the picture I have a lot of product in my hair, so it looks a little crunchy). You need to keep your hair in good condition and may get a little itchy scalp if you squirt the color down onto the scalp. These colors have been so great for me it's been worth a little itchy scalp trouble from color sitting on the scalp an hour.

Inexpensive and effective
If your hair is relatively easy to color, I see no reason not to do it at home. It costs me like $7 a month or so to maintain, and to be honest, even hairdressers usually can't tell it is not done professionally. This stuff doesn't stink of ammonia and is pretty gentle on your scalp. I have other things I'd rather spend my money on, with all respect to hair pros who do a great job.

very affordable
Revlon is the most affordable among all the brands and I always buy them. I have tried other more expensive brands, and I do not notice too much differences. However, this specific color and its final effect (hair color) is my favorite, even though this color is the least lasting among the colors i have tried (brown and black last longer). This reddish color usually will be very visible for a bit more than one month and it tends to turn brown afterwards . If you want this reddish color to continue, the only option is to buy a new box and apply it again. For grey coverage, I have black hair, I left the mixture on longer than the instruction, I will let it go to 45 or even an hour. Then it covers the grey and turns it reddish. If you have really long hair, longer than the waist, then you will need two boxes for covering all of them. Washing the dye off will require lots of water and even after long washing, in the shower, the next two days, I saw bath water turn red still so if you have white pillows, best to use black or dark color pillow case right after you dye or you might stain your pillow. The smell was not good but i do not believe there is a good smell dye, at least not that I am aware of. I can stand it but my family always notice it cause they can smell it as well. It does make your hair more dry but I have no choice. I rather have dry hair than grey visible hair. So pricing is 5 star, smell is 1 star, and color coverage is 4 star, preserve hair health and moisture is 2 star so you do the math. There are still a lot of improvements the hair dye industry can strive for.

Really nice color.
As a natural redhead, finding a good color match, is a challenge. I always use the ammonia free. This is easy to use, goes on well, and seems to last.I just wish more hair colors would come in better shades for redheads.
