PAUDIN Utility Knife 5'', 67-Layer Forged Damascus Kitchen Knives

This is my 2nd Nakiri from Paudin. The first was one of their budget line knives. It was a revelation about how useful this style was to be and how it quickly became my number one, go-to kitchen knife. It was however, only barely decent at holding an edge. Style & function - awesome. Edge holding, not so much, so I began looking for a higher grade version of a Nakiri and landed back on Paudin because of reviews and Prime Days discount making the value for dollar even higher.This is a beautiful and VERY sharp knife. ItIs designed with thin blade stock that effortlessly cuts through anything I've thrown at it. The 1% knock on it is that the handle is ever so slightly slippery. It is constructed of polished G10 making it extremely durable, but the polished finish isn't as grippy as I'd like. But otherwise, I'd buy it over again and again if I ever needed to. FYI, VG10 is a very high-grade knife steel. Again, it's a stunner to look at, handle, and cut with.

Nice looking knife. It is well balanced and very sharp. My wife loves it. The clear plastic case is adequate for drawer protection. A good value for the money.

Comes very sharp. Very nice looking and balance as well. It does take a wide slot in your knife rack a very nice knife for the price. Recommend it to others.

Gave this to my mom as a holiday gift, she absolutely loves it! All her other kitchen knives were pretty terrible, so I wanted to get her something sharp that slices almost anything with ease.. this knife rocks!

Unsure of actual steel used. Box says VG10, papers say special makeup of AUS-10, knife blade says Damascus steel. Knife feels good, blade is very sharp. Would be nice to know what it’s really made from though. Seems well made for a decent price.

The balance is perfect. I used it to cut a whole Filet Mignon; it cut through it like butter. So far, so good.

I have a lot of high-end knives but have tried a few of these Paudin knives when I'm worried about damaging a delicate, razor sharp Japanese blade on something (or when my wife wants to use it. She likes to cut the item along with carving the cutting board, lol!). These knives are less expensive but I've really appreciated the quality. They have great fit, feel, and balance. The cutting edge is nice and sharp out of the box and holds up well. Comfortable to hold and easy to clean. Sometimes get left on the drying board after washing to drip-dry, absolutely no issues with staining or corrosion. Very happy with to function and appearance, would not hesitate to order other knives from this company.
