Business Strategy: A Guide to Effective Decision-Making (Economist Books)

A very good general overview of strategy. If you have a lot of experience in strategic thinking and strategic planning, this is a nice refresher and reminder about the fundamentals. If you do not have a lot of experience this is a wonderful book to help you better understand business strategy. I would consider this a very good book for learning about strategy.

Many good points and coverage of the entire concept. Makes me want to learn even more about business strategy. But not an enjoyable read. Felt like reading somebody’s flashcards.

This should be read by anyone who cares about where their company is headed. many of the points seem like common sense but many companies also don't follow them.

The Economist consistently puts out nice practical guides on several subjects, many relating to business. This is not meant to be the last word on business strategy. However, it is a nice practical overview on how to approach strategy from an organizational perspective.

Great practical work, particularly useful inter terms of critical questions. useful in day-2-day strategy work.

It is a guide of stategy tools that guide you due to develop it but it also presents pitfalls or possible bias.

It’s a great book to review the strategic planning contains the important and practiced theories and models in one place. And it’s a good reference book.

This is a very good book about strategy - it provides a succinct and easy-to-read book on the subject, and provides good examples to help illustrate ideas. I thought it was very well structured, and considers strategy from many different vantage points - for example, the book starts off with outlining different approaches and viewpoints to strategy such as 'the administrator', 'visionary thinker', etc. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a solid foundation in business strategy - I work as a senior project manager and wanted to get a good view on strategy because I like to understand the big picture - it gave me some good insight into the topic. Recommended.
