Purchased this recently to put in my dresser drawers and closets to remedy any mustiness that could have been contributing to the clothes not smelling too fresh. My husband says it seems to be working, as I have a limited ability to smell right now. The package was a little bit oily or greasy, and I'm not sure why that was, but I think there was some fragrance oiled on, but the cedar blocks themselves where dry to the touch, and I didn't seem to have much of a problem with splinters as others have mentioned. I like the length and the thickness of these cedar blocks, and it's a nice, perfect size to be placed in the drawers or hung up in closets with the included strings they provide as all the cedar blocks are pre-drilled, so you can thread the string through it and hang them up if you choose to do so. I appreciate that they also included some sheets of sandpaper, so you can maintain the cedar blocks when they need a little bit of a refresh. Not only would I recommend this product, I am actually considering purchasing another set.

This set of cedar blocks and chips provides a generous amount of cedar in block and chip form, and the optional rope hangers add to the product's versatility.The rope hangers do not come pre-attached -- you have to tie them on yourself. This is actually a good thing because I ended up using some of the cedar blocks for clothes that are hanging in the closet (using the rope to loop them around the hangers) and some for shirts that I keep folded in dresser drawers (where there's no rope hanger required). I also tuck the blocks in with spare bed linens and blankets that are put away in the closet.I consider these to be a good value and am very pleased with my purchase.

I am joying the scent on pillows and blankets since i put these in the chest where we keep those items. Also, we hung a few up in our closets and the scent in there is very nice as well.

Bought these for the closets around the house. Loved the smell of the gift chess games and trinket boxes that were around in the 70s and 80s as I grew up. The scent isnt as strong as that with these blocks. It is still a pleasant odor...better than my old sneakers for sure:)

The smell is distinctly cedar, but not that strong. The blocks are smooth and good size. No complaints.

First thing I noticed was the lack of cedar scent or any scent. Then realized it came with sand paper. I've bought cedar blocks, planks, and pouches before and all smelled great right off the bat. Am I supposed to sand all 12 blocks to get any scent off of them? I sanded one and realized how ridiculous this was. You would think at least the pouches would smell like cedar since you can't sand those down, but nope! Nothing. Worthless and pointless.

Easy to set up. No strong cedar smell, as I am allergic to cedar. Seems to have slowed down the moth population in our closet.
