My 2- and 4-year-olds love playing with the Blipbox! It's a toy, but a serious toy that teaches signal paths, interactions, and control flows. The sounds and loops are straight up weird, in a good way - no nursery rhymes here.The plastic feels sturdy. The MIDI input works if you turn it on with a key combination (Sequencer Off Mode).Critiques: The drum sounds are pretty weak (bass and snare), but that's in no way a deal breaker. It'd be nice if the special modes were included with the printed manual.Overall, love it!

My 4.5 year old nephew loves this... and so do his 7 and 8 year old brother and sister... and so does their 38 year old dad. It's everything from a young child discovery and play toy to an adult synth-line generator. impressed!

It’s a cool device but the preset tracks, which you cannot control, aren’t good. Our kids don’t feel like they’re creating music at all, just distorting noise in different ways.

We ordered this from the company Blipblox when it just came out. It is so perfect and easy to use for any ages. Our 2 year old has always been obsessed with daddy’s synthesizers. So this was a perfect little gift for a synth loving baby. This is an amazing little device that you can connect just like any synthesizer to your studio and make sounds you can use for making music. ITS A REAL SYNTHESIZER- just with a look to attract kids. Tons of fun different colors flashing in different patterns. And it’s made very sturdy and strong so a kid can’t break it. It looks like an actual toy! Also, there isn’t many synthesizers out there for kids- only one other one, not sure if it’s out just yet. Was only up for pre-order when we got this one for our little one. Highly recommend to any child who loves sounds!

You know how at Christmas you have all these dreams about your kid playing with their big ticket item ALL DAY and into the next week? And instead they usually just want to watch a screen and all those new toys lay abandoned? Yeah, that doesn’t happen when you give your child a Blipblox. Frankly, it gets fought over at our house as mom, dad, and two kids obsess over making sick beats! This is so worth purchasing and it grows with your child as they learn more and connect it with midi and record their skillz.

I purchased this product directly from the manufacturer and am very satisfied. There is something weird and wonderful about it that appeals to kids, adults, and professionals alike, whether you're learning or performing. I found myself discovering new things about music and also wondering about even more nerdy stuff like oscillators. One of my favorite features is the MIDI interface because I can connect it to keyboards, Korg Volcas, etc. and make some crazy original sounds. It's a gateway instrument for sure!

My twins love it! It’s something they’ll be able to grow into vs growing out of. Totally recommend it.

Piece of junk. Totally gimmicky. My 5 year old son played with it for 2 days and totally lost interest. Many of the knobs have no noticeable effect. It’s actually hard to use, which is incomprehensible seeing as how it plays its own melodies, which incidentally are all bad. The drums are a total joke. Just a terrible sounding kick and snare there is no way to sequence. If you want to expand your child’s mind do yourself a favor and buy them a few korg volcas.Who do you guys think you are charging $189.00 for this thing?
