Asante 99-00900-US With Built-in Camera Smart Garage Door Opener, White

Easy install. Synced automatically. Let me preface by saying I already installed Asante smoke detectors and so the wifi extender and apps were already working (on android phone). Took about 10-15 min . Almost anyone should be able to do this (unless you don't have a electric garage door opener). Instructions were good, supplies including wiring were included (that in itself is amazing) and mounting it on the wall was the hardest part. The app found the camera without me doing anything and asked if I wanted to add it to my other smoke detectors. I really like the Asante smoke detectors that have been installed and working well for about a year (emails and texts me even if there is a power failure). Well worth the investment. I will try to follow up with more feedback once I have a few months of use. No more garage door remotes to carry around!!P.S. If you don't have have the Asante system already in your home you will have to set it up and download the app. I did need to drill holes in my wall and by clips to hold the wires to the wall.

This product was easy enough to install and get working. I didn't try the full WiFi. I plugged the Home Extender module into my WiFi Router. Install the camera near the garage door switch and it paired quickly.However, regardless of what it says on Asante's web page, the opener cannot tell you if door is up or down with out the sensor and apparently they are optional. Good luck in finding them on their web site. I installed the garage door opener in December and it is now Feb. The camera quit working a few days ago. I cannot get the camera to pair with the WiFi. It does show the buttons on my iPhone, but without the camera or sensor, you cannot tell if the garage door is up or down or working at all. I tried to register the product. It requires a part number which is not located on the device.The part number is: 99-00854-US.To be clear, the Home Extender is not the garage door opener. Once you buy it, it works with Asante's other products. The Camera and door opener is just the switch. Why they don't tell you, I don't know. They should include it in the package. I take it from what I found out is that the sensor go or or near the garage door rails.I sent email to support requesting assistance with the product. I will update this review when I hear from them.

I have purchased 3 of these for 3 different properties. This thing is easy to setup and simply works as it should. At one location I have the receiver obscenely far away (3 floors and opposite side of building with brick walls and concrete floors) from the camera device and it still gets signal; that specific location is slightly less reliable because of how far it's located but all my other properties with reasonable distances work every time and with a lightning fast response.Whenever I have had questions about setup or issues needing troubleshooting the manufacturer is available 24/7 via email and phone. I've never experienced such great support.Have bought other smart garage control units but if there's no camera you an forget about it; you need the camera to watch the delivery guy drop off the package so you can close up behind him, etc..

The unit is down more than it's up. The base unit is constantly losing the internet connection and needs to be rebooted. The only problem is, I'm usually never home to do that. 70% of the time I need to access my garage doors, the unit fails. Now they want me to send it back to them to check it out and repair or replace for a $125 fee. This does not make up for all the time the systems been down and the time it took me to email tech support and wait for a reply. For a few more bucks, I buy a new system and replace this garbage that never worked well to begin with.

This works great and it's easy to install. You don't need to be a computer genius to install this and hook it up to your network. You should also by the garage sensor that goes along with this works very well. The night vision on the camera switch works well. The only issues I've had is that the light switch on the app is very close to the open and close garage door button. If you're not careful you might accidentally open or close the door when you switch the night vision on and off. I would give this five stars if it was z wave compatible. Or other devices are Z wave devices and I have to going to a separate app to open this one up.Providing an update....now that I have had it for several months and have decided to replace with another brand. Issues:1) The app is very slow and takes a long time to actually get to the garage camera with several buttons to press. We have other smart home apps and they are much faster than this one.2) The unit will not stay connected with my internet wifi for longer than a week. We have to unplug and plug back in to get it to reconnect. Rather inconvenient when out of town. Again, we do not have this issue with other smart home devices on our network3) Really not compatible with other smart home hubs. We are trying to consolidate and it is rather inconvenient to have multiple apps and sign ins for every device.4) a lot of wires show. First you have the wire from the camera to the button you press to open and close the door and second a wire hanging down from the camera to the plug. Not a clean look.
