How thick is this steel cable? Is it easy to break?

the retractable cord is about 1mm thick, I feel it’s a great item. I carry 9 keys everyday but It hasn't frayed or fallen apart.

The retractable cable is nice and thick, quality steel material, seems very durable.

How much weight can this hold?

I'm not sure about the exact weight, but it works really great for my keys. The cable has never broken and the way they are built is rugged. I have 13 keys and swipe card on it. hope this will help you.
