This bit gets it done!
I was able to plane three sides of an eight foot by ~7" wide railroad tie with this bit, my router and a router sled/jig I made. Honestly, I thought I was going to wear this bit out because it's a really hard piece of oak. This was my first time to plane anything and this bit and setup worked perfectly. Can't believe it. Also - couldn't find a surfacing router bit at my home depot, so I am glad I was able to find this at Amazon. I would buy this again if I needed it. Mine still works fine, so I will use it in the future should the need arise.

Sharp and sturdy
Sharp and the shaft was straight. I mounted this in a palm router and it is chewing an end grain cutting board nice and flat! So far has cut through Zebra wood, Purpleheart, Padauk and Okoume with no problems.

Trammed a spoilboard perfectly
I was a bit worried that this wouldn't work very well because it was less expensive than other bits. It did a beautiful job on my Sain 4030 leaving no tramming lines and a sanded like finish. Maybe it will not last for 50 uses but I don't tram the spoilboard that often and it is a lot more cost effective to order another one if this one fails. If it fails by doing a poor job it is easy enough to get another one and go from there.

A Bang for your Buck!
Helps flatten my spoilboard or helps flatten any material before getting carved. You want your material to be completely flat and parallel to your Z-axis. I'll probably upgrade to a wider bit, but this one did the job and the results were great! I definitely recommend.

Small little workhorse
I had a large sizable slab of live edge white oak about 9' long and 2.5' feet wide with a bow and twists in multiple areas. White oak is a heavy and hard wood. It's even harder than American Walnut so I was right to be a little skeptical on this bit's effectiveness. I started on the bottom side of the slab since that was flatter and I figured once I got one side flat, it would make it easier to flatten the other side. I made a sled for the router to rest on, found the highest point on the slab, hooked up the dust collector to my router and got started. This little, bitty bit did not disappoint. I was able to complete one side in about an hour even after shaving off only a little at a time. The blade stayed sharp the entire time (altho I would probably sharpen it before using it again). Needless to say, I'm very impressed with it. It also came with a 1/2" to 1/4" collet. I didn't need to use it but since I didn't have one, it was a nice bonus.

Not a great experience
I bought it to use in my router sled for milling a piece of rough-sawn oak and a cutting board I built with multiple hardwoods. It got the job done, but it dulled quickly, burned the wood, and began smoking after less than an hour of use. I just bought this bit and already I've had to go online and order a more reliable brand. I should have just done that the first time.
