Deluxe Hourglass 2 in 1 Salt & Pepper Grinder. It's a Salt Mill and Pepper Mill Set in One Unit

UPDATE: November 2016Really disappointed that the salt grinder pulverizes the salt into a powder, causing me to over-salt everything. Taking one star away. So now I'm relegating this S&P Mill to the back of the cabinet.A friend suggested I could use it for two types of pepper so I gave it to him.Is this a game changer? Probably not. The quality is decent. The design is nice. I'm just not happy with the salt grind.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I bought this salt and pepper mill to replace an old workhorse that fell victim to a series of unfortunate accidents, rendering it unusable. It grinds a decent amount of both salt and pepper with each rotation of the grinder. This may not seem like a big deal if your sole use is at the table but I use this mill while cooking where more than a light dusting of S&P is often necessary. -- Anyone who has ever tried to use an ineffective salt or pepper mill to make their own barbecue rub knows what a pain it can be.I did run into a slight problem with the plastic grinder housing separating from the grinder unit when I tried to grind my first batch of pepper. (You'll see in the image how the ring above the salt is slightly separated.) I didn't know if maybe I was using the wrong grinder for the pepper or not which I felt was unlikely but I swapped the pepper with the salt and tried again. Interestingly enough, that solved the problem. Both the salt and the pepper now grind perfectly.I did not think the problem was bad enough for me to contact the seller.The pluses...Caps over the grinders mean no loose salt or pepper getting all over the place. That cap is also handy for grinding small quantities of seasoning in advance.The grinders grind a decent amount of S&P, making it useful for recipes.It's larger than I expected which means less frequent refills.Speaking of refills, the openings are wide enough to not need a funnel to refill.It's cute. The design is attractive.Cons...It took a while to find an acceptable grind for the salt.The shape makes it a little awkward to hold so it takes a little getting used to.Since it gets used a lot it gets misplaced a lot. -- But I guess that's not the manufacturer's fault.Overall, it's a very good salt and pepper mill.

Well, I liked it ok for 2 months. I filled both sides with pepper. It's not super easy to twist like I had hoped, which was the reason I purchased it. I had to twist it back and forth instead of just one way. It also seems to work better when it's full of peppercorns...I don't want to fill it all the time so this is a pain. It is pretty easy to change the grind, but it doesn't really change it that much. I bought some salt and will try it with that, but I actually just bought a different grinder because I didn't feel like messing with it anymore. The lids aren't really easy to get off, either. I would pass on this one, though it does look nice on the counter.

Very nice looking, it matches our stainless kitchen beautifully. It not only saves counter space by incorporating 2 in 1, but it's also safer, in the event it's dropped by accident it won't splatter glass all over like the one we used to have.. The only problem we found, and why we knocked one star is because it can be difficult to remove the end caps, they should have created a notch or indentation on the cap - our solution was to leave the caps off at all times.

The grinder is excellent. So far, it is very easy to use, grinding up pepper corns very well, since the grinder is metal. Nice to have salt and pepper in one unit. Good to have near stove or on dining table. I'm not too familiar with salt grinders, so I'm using regular salt, which of course does not need to be ground.It didn't come with directions. This could help, since there appears to be a dial that changes the coarseness of the ground pepper. Also, I could use some instruction on what kind of salt should be used in the grinder.

I honestly wish, in retrospect, that i bought a name-brand product for a little more in cost. This one came a little wonky shaped and doesn't stand up straight because the glass was poorly shaped, so it's not perfectly straight, and that drives me nuts.

This is a sleek looking kitchen tool. The size is perfect for any counter top or table. Easy to twist the ends for grinding and the adjustable grind size is great. The clear acrylic body allows you to know when a refill is required. No running out of salt or pepper during your dinner.

Delivered fairly quick. This Salt and Pepper grinder is very easy to fill due to its large openings once you twist open the lids. I like that you can see through the glass and that it is pretty tall compared to other grinders. Easy as pie to switch between coarse and fine. Super easy to clean and overall i would like to give it 4 Stars :)

Great grinder, adjustable, no kinks so far.
