This is just one of a number of dry soup mixes that Frontier sells. This recipe calls for the cook to add sausage - I plan to experiment with various types of sausages to obtain a flavor I prefer. The mix yields several servings, so may be more suitable for a family meal than for just one or two. Preparation is simple. The directions are easy to follow. Packaging is sturdy and should allow storage for a reasonable time. More convenient than canned soups in terms of storage, actually, and the end product tastes much better. Some recipes are labeled as gluten free and most do not appear to include peanut products. The grain products included are labeled non-GMO

I used to get this mix at the local grocery. When they quit carrying it, I found it here. This is a great soup. Easy to make, with great flavor. During the summer months when we get lots of zucchini, it is a wonderful way to use all of them. It makes a very large pot of soup. So, there is always plenty to share with neighbors as well.

I didn't notice how long it will take to prepare these lentils. I had the idea they were precooked. Ugh! I just hope that they taste as good as some customers state on their reviews.

Typically this brand is excellent. HOWEVER, package arrived and inside the beans/soup contents were already opened. Not able to use. $14 - wasted on poor packaging/delivery. Not returnable. Disappointing.
