Catalyst Cryohelmet v2 Men's and Women's Migraine Relief Cap with Adjustable Hood, Small, Black

My wife gets migraines quite often. I bought this after hearing AJ Hawk mention it on Pat McAfee's show recommend it. Now anytime she gets a migraine or even a headache it's the first things she asks for. Now it's not the cure all and isn't going to cure everything but according to her it really makes life way more tolerable and helps her to rest. Many times I've found her asleep with it on. One minor complaint would be the extra freezing packs that it comes with aren't already cut in to the pieces that you need so you've got to do it on your own and there aren't enough for a one for one swap of them all.

It does what it promises to give some relief from my migraine headaches. I leave it fully ready to use in the freezer with some bags of frozen vegi in the middle to keep its round shape. The first 3 minutes of my 20 minute session are tough, yet worth the shock that helps in the first hour.

May I just say that this is my best purchase ever to help relieve my migraine/tension headache. For anyone who suffers from migraines you ought to try this. This product provides the much needed relief from the pounding and aching one feels during a migraine episode. This plus a dark room and aromatherapy will help hasten migraine relief.

Great idea in theory, but completely fails in reality, thanks to a poor design. First of all, this thing does not get cold. So for that reason alone, it fails. Even if the individual gel cubes were to get cold, there is too much space between them for anything that even remotely resembles full coverage. And only a small area of any given cube touches your head. Speaking of cubes touching your head, this thing is sinfully uncomfortable. Imagine wearing a football helmet lined with hard cubes. Also, the sizing is horrendous. I have a pretty small head, by men's standards, and according to my measurements, the M/L was my size. But it was tiny. It felt like a kid's size. too small to cover the sides of my head, so it more just rested on top like a crown. I exchanged it for the L/XL, which did cover more of the sides of my head, but was still too small to connect the neck velcro without choking myself. Again, I've got a small head. I can't imagine either of these sizes fitting anybody other than women, children, or those with small head syndrome. For $80, I expected this to out-perform the $20 ice headbands, but it was the exact opposite in every regard. So I'm going to buy two of those and call it a day.

I like that there are ice packs around your neck and the drawstrings to pull and hold close. I don’t like the ice packs in the head part of the helmet. It’s like rocks against your head! The one I had before was a flexible gel and much easier to use lying down but it didn’t stay cold as long as this does. Couldn’t we find a happy medium between the two?

The blue ice prevents the helmet from coming down all the way so it requires a little pressure from a hand or arm to press down on the top of the skull. Love the straps that come around the neck have ice as well to constrict carotids and help the pounding to go away. Great coverage: back of neck, temples, carotid area top of head. Definitely a great help when all you want is some relief! It is a little uncomfortable when the blue ice is fully frozen but it conforms quickly.

Best solution for chronic migraine and tension headache. Don't hesitate trust be I did and wish I didn't waste so much time researching this.

We tried this for my wife's migraines and she said the ice pack design isn't good for people in severe migraine pain. We ended up sending this one back and choosing one with a gel pack design rather than a hard chunks of ice design.
