Great Bazaar Swad Fennel Seeds, 7 Ounce (7oz)

I have had bad luck buying fennel seeds online for the last few years. I know what fennel is supposed to taste like, and bitter/dusty isn't it. When it comes in the mail and it's brown/grey and bitter - nope. I got this fennel based on the positive reviews, and the small size/relative low cost, thinking that even if it's awful, at least I won't be out a ton of $. Well. I could see the bright green color through the bag. I opened the bag, and *fragrant* - ate a single seed... delicious. Hurrah!!! I finally got some good-tasting fennel online!!!! Very nice and fresh and delicious. Thank you!

It’s fresh taste and smells like fennel..I grind this in my coffee grinder and make ginger finnel tea ...it’s so good for gas bloating upset stomach you can add it to pasta sauce sprinkle it on pizza or veggies ...digestion will be good to you when u use fennel. U can also chew on the seeds before and after meals

Not as good as I expected. Lacks flavor. I had to use double the amount of what my recipe called for.

I got hooked on fennel from eating at Indian Restaurants. There would be a dish with a little scoop by the cash register, sort of like American restaurants have their dish of mints. I started buying my own a few years ago and by sheer luck this was the brand I tried. It tastes as expected. A few weeks ago I tried a different brand because they had a larger container. Yuck! What a weird flavor! More like bug spray than licorice. So out of curiosity I purchased another brand that was organic. Same weird flavor. I had no idea different brands could taste so different. I don't know what is causing the weird taste, whether it's how it's grown or stored or packaged, but this is the only one I'll buy now.

I am a fennel seed tea drinker for many years and it makes a big difference to have good quality seeds to make a good tea. These are the best seeds I have ever had, very flavorful yet not too aromatic. Just the way you want your fennel seeds tea to be.

Great price for the size, but they are definitely not as fresh as I would've wanted. I bought these to drink as a tea and they do not taste fresh. I'm sure they would be fine in baking or cooking, something where they are not the sole focus. I don't think I'd repurchase, but it's ok because this huge bag will last a long time!
