I'm not sure but mine was fairly light in color.

Can the glue be removed?

Probably not easily and cleanly. If you heat it with a hot air gun and scrape off glue, then sand off any remaining residue you might get there.

Does this edge banding have a dark felt backing or is it white?

The glue on the back is a dark tone, not white.
