Love it - but a couple notes on the advertising of this product.
UPDATE: I purchased one of these parasheets as picnic and beach blanket, and just loved it. Its compact and lightweight, the sand pockets are great for holding down the corners at the beach, and with a simple shake it sheds away the beach sand and packs away cleanly for the next outing.I recently purchased a second one to use as a lightweight "bedspread" in our camper to protect our summertime camp bedding from dog hair and dirty paws while we're camping. I am sure it will work great for that purpose, but I did notice a couple things that I hadn't with my previous purchase. 1) is the photos for this product show the corner stake down loops as being made of paracord. This is not the case with both sheets that I have purchased. Instead, the loops are fashioned of nylon ribbon. How sturdy that is - only time will tell. 2) is that the product description, and even the product packaging, claim that the sheets are machine washable. However, the product tag states, "Hand wash with mild soap only". Machine washing wasn't something that I considered with the first sheet, since it was to be used strictly as a ground sheet. But with the second one, since I plan to use it to cover our camp bed, I'd like it to be easy to clean. Fortunately, our washing machine has a hand wash wool cycle that was a perfect alternative to washing this thing by hand. But otherwise it would be a bit of a pain.

Great quality parasheet for the beach or picnic. Not sure I like the teal color.
This is a light-weight (16 oz) parasheet good for the beach or dry ground. It is 7' X 7' so it is big enough for 2 - 3 people. It folds up into a 4" diameter tube that is 8" long, much smaller than a folded towel that would only hold 1 person. There are corner sand pockets to fill with sand to anchor the sheet at the beach. The carry-bag is sewn-on so you can just stuff the entire sheet into the bag without worry about losing it. There are also stake loops to anchor the sheet on the ground. However, no stakes are provided.I bought this to avoid sand on my towels. Besides using it at the beach and for picnics, I also plan to use it as a table-cloth for picnic tables. It is machine washable.I am overall happy with the product except for 3 minor nits: 1) Since you need to stuff the sheet into the carry-bag, the sheet is very wrinkled...it does not look half as pristine as in the picture. 2) The stake loops at each corner no longer look like the ones shown in the video. Instead, they are made of ribbon and not of light paracord as shown. Therefore, these ribbon loops may not be a durable. 3) I got the yellow & teal color combo due to the much lower price. The teal looks more like a blue on the screen but it is really '80's teal (more toward the green) in real life. It is not as pretty as the picture so be sure you really like teal to pick this color. For me, this color combo is the cheapest so I can live with the less than desirable teal. Maybe it'll fade a bit under the sun. ;)

My 2nd Parasheet
This is my second parasheet blanket. The first one was a single that I used and abused for four years. During those four years, I would say it had an estimated 120+ beach days. My sheet dealt with a lot of oils (tanning) so I'm sure that broke the sheet down a little before it's natural course of death - so to speak.I DON"T like the price tag on these things but I did love my parasheet enough to bite the bullet and buy a new one (a double this time) on Amazon. The single is perfect for just that - one person. And yep, I like these enough to buy another single as well. I bought the double because for the hubby and I when travelling together. Thing is, the hubby has a 9-5 job without much flexibility or vacation days at all, and my job is flexible and I travel all over the world (solo) so I will have to get a new single as well. There are a LOT of new companies coming out with parasheet type designs for much less here on Amazon. I have not tried any thus far. I figured I'd go with what I know for now. I also appreciate that the parasheet does not come with any strong factory/chemical smell like some of the fabric based items I order. So again, another reason to stick with what has already worked. ;)

Great beach blanket
I have had this for some time now and it is a must carry anytime we go to the beach. This thing literally wraps itself up into this small bag type thing which is so easy to carry and put anywhere. Being very lightweight, it doesn't add a lot of weight to the stuff that you're carrying. The material of the blanket is very sturdy and can easily handle the grittiness of the sand, while providing protection from directly sitting on the sand. It dries and dusts off very easily too.One of the most creative things about this blanket are the pockets on the 4 corners. You fill in sand in those pockets to add weight and hold this blanket down. What a simple yet genius solution from having blankets blowing away in wind.

Exactly what I wanted.
I live near the beach and wanted something that I could keep in my trunk for spontaneous outings. This parasheet beach blanket fits the bill perfectly.Pros:Super lightweight and compacts down to about the 1L volume.Corner pockets for weighting down with sand is a nice touch.Big size allows me to stay fully on it (I'm over 6 feet tall) as opposed to towels which my legs are always hanging off the edge.Solid construction. I've had this in my trunk for over four years now, and it still works as advertised.Cons:Not soft like a cotton towel--more like laying on nylon.

Great for the beach!
I purchased this for our 3 week beach trip and it has been awesome. The sand just falls right off (when dry) and you don't end up shaking out sand for the next few uses. The sand pockets on the edges work great. The pockets are strong and we have never had it move at all. It is not water resistant at all though, if you put it on wet ground, your bum will also be wet. But it is great to have a clean dry spot to sit. It dries very quickly, Iv'e washed it in the washing machine twice and have only hung it up to dry. The attached stuff sack is great and it fits back in easily. It's perfect for the beach.
