Will this work for a G-21?

No it will not. G21 is 1.27" wide and the G17 is 1.18" wide, this will only work for firearms that can utilize a G-17 magazine. I am using one for an AR9 and it supports the weight just fine, but it will not work for you G-21

Think this will hold an ar9 upside down?

Sorry, but this mount does not lock into an ar9 mag release, so it would slide off
