Best value of a method to preserve wine, with reservations.
By value, there's nothing else that comes close to preserving your wine. The argon gas seems to be the only alternative, and both the tool and the gas are expensive, so you better have some nice wine you're using this for to make it worth the expense. The balloon works fantastic so I can have a $10-20$ bottle and have just a single serving every day where I can enjoy a nice glass without the worry of the wine going flat, or having to finish the whole thing. The caveat with the wine balloon is that the manufacturer states you should get close to 80 inflates with a single balloon. I've never gotten more than half that amount before it bursts and I'm very meticulous about over-inflating. I don't use it on Chardonnay bottles either because those tend to be wider bottles than red wines, which allows the balloon to inflate more than normal.Seems rather expensive at $4.50 for a plastic tip and some latex that only last on average 20-30 times. I'd buy them in bulk if I could to cut the price in half. After going through one every month or so, I got $50 just in balloons every year. Still cheap compared to other solutions (that actually work), but kinda spendy for latex.

Balloons Need to Fit Different Bottles
Just received my 2nd set of replacement balloons and donโt think that any ever lasted more than 30 times. I think some of the wider wine bottles, like Pinot Noir & Chardonnay, tend to over-stretch the balloons & cause them to fail more often than use in regular bottles. Maybe make some wider/bigger balloons available & possibly be able to sell more inflaters-one to have for both bottle types. Sincerely, A True Fan

Good Product/GREAT Service
This is a great product and the company has WONDERFUL customer service! The first version we received did not hold air and we were very disappointed. It had been rated highly on America's Test Kitchen, so rather than conclude that the product was a dud, I emailed the owner/inventor. He replied in less than 24 hours and shipped me a replacement immediately. The replacement works like a dream. This is a nifty, inexpensive and effective way to keep wine fresh in the bottle. There are only two of us so we rarely drink a whole bottle of wine at a meal. We found that we just never enjoyed wine at home because we were reluctant to open a bottle and let half of it get sale. This product has changed all that!

This could be an excellent product, but sometimes the seal does not hold
I purchased this based on a recommendation from a recent "Cook's Illustrated" magazine review. It worked well for the first few months. Eventually, the air balloon was leaking air and exposed my sealed wine to air. I thought it may have been that my balloon was older, so I replaced it--the set comes with two. The balloon held for a month or so, then began to shrink. I purchased another set of balloons. After a few weeks, the balloon yet again lost air and the seal was broken. If you don't mind replacing the balloon every month--with no warning when it will begin leaking air--the Air Cork may be for you. This could be an excellent product, but sometimes the seal does not hold. As the Coravin is out of my price range (and it will not work on metal or synthetic corks), I tried another wine preserving product, the Private Preserve. I have been pleased with it so far. Clean up is simple and the Private Preserve cans are about $10, which is much less than the Air Cork.

But a better valve would be a great improvement
I use the wine preserver but find the valve leaks after one day so the balloon deflates. So I just recently put a small wood clamp on hose and that seems to solve the issue. But a better valve would be a great improvement. Thanks itโs still the best thing Iโve found to keep wine from oxidation. Thanks!

I hope I'll love them. I haven't put them on the pump ...
I hope I'll love them. I haven't put them on the pump yet because I haven't figured out how to do it yet. I thought there would be instructions. I think we're going to put the pump in warm water then try to put the new balloons on them. I have 2 of these. I have also given them as gifts. If you have a special way to put on these balloons then please let me know.Thank you for emailing me so I could has this question.Marlene Taylor909 709-2447

Itโs a good wine saver, not so great replacement balloons.
I used these balloons for replacements on my air cork. The air cork is an awesome device BUT the balloons are poor quality. The air cork came with 2 replacement balloons but one of them already had a whole in before using. The 3 rd one lasted a decent amount of time. Then I bought a pack of 3 replacement balloons AND AGAIN one of them had a whole in it before using. Balloons not that great for $8 for 2 working balloons. Little much.

Great device to save your wine at a great price
This is a great product! I have kept half full bottles of wine on the counter with the air cork for 3 days and couldn't tell any difference. I like it so much I bought a second one in case we have white one night and red the next. I can't see paying hundreds for the fancy argon systems and the gas-in-a-can doesn't work very well unless you fill the bottle and that uses a lot of gas. These work great and the price is right.
