Radius Networks USB Beacon

love this thing got one to talk to a remote app i use for home automation and room location information it worked so well i just bought 2 dots for other rooms looking forward to seeing how they perform radius informed me of a 14 day lifespan on those so if i lower the transmit may get more life out of them but the radbeacon is amazing works like a charm thanks for making such a good config app as well very solid. nice touch with with the config timeout that was a learning curve lol. what i mean by that is after you configure them they stop showing to config app unless power cycled. again this thing working great and now simple control can see what room my devices are in

My friend and I ordered one of these each. His worked perfectly, mine was a dud. I reached out to radius networks TWICE for help, they never responded to me.My friend’s radbeacon is great and does what we needed it to without issue. Wish I could say the same for mine, and I also wish that radius networks gave a crap.

Works good

I use this for proximity detection to automatically turn on and off lights, a fan, and the computer monitors in my office. So far, I am very happy with it. The configuration utility is decent, and there is security in the form of a pin and a 30 second bootup window to change settings.

No documentation. Good luck. Seems slow to respond. Eventually knows you are close by.

This works great! I use this along with Tasker and Lux on my Android phone to put my phone into a Car mode or a Desk mode automatically. I love how small the device is and it seems like it is very reliable. I actually just purchased a third one of these to put into another car. If you have any use for a proximity beacon you will not go wrong with this device!

Can only rate 1 stars because the set-up is tremendously long, somewhat technical, with many, many more steps compared to most hardware. Setup was not successful. It takes hardware, apps, several configuration windows, Google configurations, while trying to keep them on the same google account on several devices etc. Still confused on how it works with Android, IOS or both. For me, it worked with neither becuase the length series of configurations started confusing and then got worse and worse, and this is coming from someone with decades of computer and electronics experience. I own both IOS and Android phones. If I chose to spend many days or weeks, chatting back and forth with technical support, then it might actually work, but it is not clear how they would work, and I don't have time to wait while they return my emails back and forth for many days or weeks to try to figure out something that is complicated and experimental in nature. RadBeacon needs to spend more time in development. They need to better pre-configure the product and sell it at a higher price with phone technical support so that busy people can buy it and easily get it working the same day that they receive it.

I bought these for work and we built some cool little apps using beacon technology on both iOS and Android platforms. easy to use and very compact.
