Pay attention to get the critters!
Works well! Generally if I get the bombs set off on the day I first see the new tunnels the moles and gophers are either dead or gone for at least three weeks! Sometimes I set off one bomb sometimes it’s five to 8! They do work if I am paying attention. Great price!

This will help you eliminate ground squirrels
I've used these before with ground squirrels and did not have success...I think because it was already winter time and they were already hibernating. I managed to get rid of them for a year but they came back last year. I let it go, but they are sooooo destructive that I just couldn't let them continue to burrow around my front and rear steps and create trails in the yard and dig away from the roots of my shrubs and trees.I read where these are more successful in the early spring/summer. My whole family went to town one morning quickly filling the holes with these smoke bombs and covering with dirt afterwards. There was one that must have been away and came back. After about a month I finally saw it eating grass outside the hole and immediately grabbed more of these bombs and dirt. When it saw me it went down the hole and I quickly lit a bomb and placed it in the hole and covered with dirt. Haven't seen it come up this time.It would be nice to not have to eradicate these creatures, but services are extremely expensive to trap and release and all you do there is cause a problem for somebody else. If they weren't soooooo destructive I'd let them stay around my house. Just too expensive to let them destroy your property.Bottom line is I would recommend these in the spring/summer when they are making babies. Best to do it early morning when they sleep or wait till you see them and chase then down the hole so you know they are present. Plug all holes or wherever you see smoke come out.I hope you never have to deal with these critters, but if you do, this is a tool that can help you eliminate the pest.

Only one in five actually burn. Poor quality
I bought 2 of these, 96 gassers. Only 1 in five will actually burn. Just the fuse burns and then nothing. Super poor quality. Don't know where these are made but they are crap.

Keeps 'em down, but not out - UPDATE: KEEPS EM OUT, TOO.
2nd UPDATE:Still keeping them at bay from the neighbors yards. As soon as I see a mound, I stick one of these down, and the problem at that site goes away. Activity is definitely less this summer. Incursions are down to about 1 to 2 a week from the 3 neighbor yards. No mounds ever show up except at the periphery, and these knock those down. I just wish the neighbors used these too, so I could use less of them.UPDATE: Haven't had to use one in almost 3 weeks. I've apparently used them enough that they're leery of the sulfer smell and dead moles all around the periphery. I expect it won't last forever, but after 2.3 boxes of these.... my usage of them has dropped to almost nothing. HIGHLY recommended.I have one acre of mostly grass, and they love the grubs. And there are mole colonies in all the neighbors 1+ acre yards on 3 sides (street is the 4th side). As long as I put one of these down a fresh mound when it shows up at the periphery of my yard, it keeps them out of the interior of my yard.It requires constant vigilance, and its not perfect, but they do prevent the yard from looking like the moonscapes of the neighbors' yards - neighbors who've given up trying to control them.If I stay on top of it, I use about a box every two months. If we go away for a few weeks and have several mounds, then I used maybe a third of the box over the course of a week or two.More effective than worm poison, by far. I've never been successful with traps, either. These give me the best results.Scrape the mound, use the spoon to find the tunnel(s) insert the fuse, light and stick it in the tunnel, cover up and walk away.Once, one of the packages of 4 had a couple who's propellant is not packed well, but after 4 boxes of the things, I've only had had that problem once.

Only part of the flare burns
When using this product I have noticed that only a 1/4 to a 1/2 of the flare burns and then it goes out. I noticed that I couldn't hear the gases being released and after several hours went and dug out the hole and that is how I saw that the flares were not burning all the way down.
