125V printed on power plug: quick heat, fast pour, accurate temp, super intuitive to use
This (Hario EVT-80-HSV) electrical kettle has an accurate temp control. It is simplistic in design and super comfortable in hands. It's very handy whenever I need hot water for different temperatures for V60 or Tea prep. The 800ml volume is also suitable for coffee or tea. When water is heated to boiling point, the kettle cap makes a traditional (old school kettle) rattle sound which I also like.

If you do pour over coffee, you want this kettle.
Once again Hario did it right. I bought a cheap kettle, It was junk. I ordered a Hario and only regret that I bought the cheap junk first. I wish Hario roasted coffee, I would buy it too.

works well
I am very happy with this product. I like that its easy to use and its lightweight. Plus it looks pretty. I was disappointed that it had Made in China stickers all over it!! I'm giving it four starz because its NOT made in JAPAN. The ad mentions its from Japan but the assumption is that it is made in JAPAN which it is NOT!There were so many stickers they were hard to remove. i used apple cider vinegar and really scrubbed. Also, the digital display is only in celsius (not Fahrenheit). Not a big deal but you have to get used to it. 96 for coffee - 100 for boil. very easy.what i also like is the cord wraps under the unit so it is not annoying and laying on the contertop. Thats a feature i love too. I took out the Amazon credit card to get a deal on the price!

Even better than expected
I wasn't aware before purchasing that this kettle keeps the temperature for up to 15 minutes. And coming from a kettle that only had a thermometer to see the current temperature, it's a huge upgrade. That feature is so convenient, I don't think I could get used easily to not having it again. Also, this kettle doesn't have a strong minimum required, although they suggest using at least 300 ml in order for the temperature sensor to work properly, which also makes it perfect if you typically brew 1-2 cups of coffee. It may be a little small for people who prepare a lot of beverages at once or use it for different purposes, with a max of 800 ml, but otherwise, it's perfect.Instructions only came in Japanese, but nothing that apps like Google Translate can't fix.

Replacement after replacement: NOT INTENDED FOR USE IN USA
This is a problem of this particular reseller and not the Hario kettle itself. This product is not designed for use in the US voltage system. I spoke directly with Hario and they confirmed that this model (EVT-80-HSV) is only for Japan. This reseller is fraudulent.Original review:I did a lot of research before buying an electric kettle for pour over and settled on the more expensive and seemingly perfected one. We purchased the hario electric hario kettle from Amazon 7 months ago and it immediately had to be replaced because it came with a rust streak on the inside. We thought it was a fluke, submitted a request and a new kettle was sent to us. However it started malfunctioning 3 months later. It began with the kettle occasionally ignoring the temperature goal. It would stop at 88C when the target was set at 96C. To get it to work again it had to be unplugged and restarted. Over the past two months this became more frequent and now happens during every brew. 7 months of service seems kind of a low bar for such an expensive and seemingly high quality kettle. I even had the thought that the replacement sent to me was not a new product but simply a returned kettle from someone else. Not sure, but it seemed outlandish that a product of such high standard would fail after conservative and careful use of less than a year. In addition to the above issue the temperature hold doesn’t work anymore and the kettle will not reheat the water after reaching the target temperature once. Perhaps getting it from Amazon was the wrong idea.

Get what you pay for
Remove the stickers for a look that will suit any kitchen. Pours great, temperature control is reliably within 1C accurate of the target and it has a keep warm feature. If it lasts for 10 years like my previous kettle it will be a great value buy.

User Manual
The is the best electric coffee kettle I've ever owned. It's simple and does what it's supposed to do very well, with no complex and unnecessary bells and whistles. Perfect size for two cups of coffee. And the looks are iconic. But it's not as intuitive to work as it might be. The user manual came in Japanese. After much searching, I finally found a multi-language User Manual on the Internet. Then it all came together!

James Hoffman was right
Totally worth the price. This kettle is perfect. It boils water extremely quickly, is easy to use, has the perfect flow rate out of the spout for pour over coffee (not too slow, not too fast), and it has a very classic, neighborhood coffee shop appearance to it that looks good in any kitchen.
