Well Designed
I really like this ashtray, enough that I just ordered another one. It's well-designed. Takes about 30 seconds to put it together, the adjustable height is great and it just works.Pros: Design is functional and stylish, holds a lot so doesn't require frequent emptying. Easy to remove the top container to empty. Adjustable height is very handy and it is more stable than expected just by looking at it when used indoors. Design minimizes odor and takes up very little floor space. It is the perfect solution for someplace people smoke with minimum room for ashtrays.Cons: While I can understand why people want to use this outside, I would expect the metal to rust in fairly short order or blow over in a strong wind if the stand is extended. The little metal tabs that hold the lid on are not overly sturdy and I consider a prime candidate for wearing out first. While it looks stylish enough, it doesn't have the feel of a premium product. Overall, the construction says "good enough" to me.I had read the reviews beforehand and knew to expect this. If you plan to use it outside, I'd consider adding a weight to the bottom to make it less likely to blow over if you leave it extended and maybe experimenting with anti-rust spray paint to discourage rust. But at this price point, it's easy enough to replace. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Cute and handy!
I hate the smell of ashtrays... I love to smoke, but despise how it makes my room smell, especially when I stink at emptying the ashtrays. This little cutie is right beside my bed, at a perfect height for leaning over to catch my ashes. The self emptying action is great! I can't smell or see dirty ashes anymore! Plus, it's nice looking. Granted, people will know its an ashtray, but it doesn't clash with my decor! Sturdy construction, my cats have tried and not been successful in knocking it over :)

Perfect for small spaces
I order this because my husband kept knocking over the ash tray in the bathroom. I got sick of needing to clean it up. When it came someone forgot a pole. Got in touch with the seller and in just a few days I had all new poles. Great seller in my book. The Stand up ashtray works get. A place to rest your cigarette and a big bucket more or less for the butts. Easy to put together and east to empty. Thinking of getting another for his side of the bed. Reminds me of older days when every ash tray just about was stand up. You can't go wrong with this

Rusts out pretty quick, but that's in the rainforest...
I've had this for 1 year 6 months and 13 days, and it looks like hot trash. I've kept it outside on a covered patio, so it never gets direct rain. To be fair, it is in Washington state, which is a temperate rain-forest, so there's almost always high humidity, light rain, or a persistent soul-crushing light drizzle. It didn't rust completely through, and it only fell over when the cats rubbed up against it, so I give it a solid three stars. After the first time it fell over, the top bent out of shape and the flap wouldn't close. It took some "man-handling" to bend it back into shape. If I lived in a windy area - this would be really frustrating to do regularly. For the price point, it actually did pretty good. I would like to have the option to purchase a stainless steel version that doesn't need to be replaced every few years - but that's a bit much to ask for. Overall, does the job - but so does an empty can of Folgers.

way better than a 2 liter coke ashtray!
Just got it today and like it so far. I'm coming from finding random household objects to use as ash trays outside and this was definitely worth it to replace that. Pretty sturdy, living in fairly windy Boulder CO I'd guesstimate its going to get knocked down like 10 times a year. Was excepting outside finish to have the cheesy looking metal plastic look like on old dell notebooks and such, but it looks pretty good. You could take off one of the pole pieces and get it even lower to ground to avoid having it knocked over by wind.

terrible
This is a horrible ashtray for 25$ not sure how it even has one star. The screw that connects the base to the actual tray keeps coming loose (duct taped) the lid literally wont fit (duct taped) defect on the inside (inside chipping off). So here i am 25$ shorter with a terrible ash tray. I hate going threw the return process. When i buy something I don't expect it to be made with such poor material. This ashtray shouldn't be more than the price of duct tape, because after assembly that's all it is, duct tape.
