I am not even a week into remote learning and this monitor has become essential for me. I can easily access both class conference calls and any additional materials without constantly switching back and forth or sacrificing screen space. I am giving this product a 5-star review because it works perfectly for me and has even exceeded my expectations. However, I have noticed that occasionally the display freezes or lags behind my inputs (mouse clicks, button presses, etc). I am unsure if this is an issue with the product or my computer, and the issue is not a frequent one, which is why I am deciding not to change my stance. I never knew that I needed a second screen for my laptop, but now that I have it I cannot live without it!

As someone who has been using multiple screens for a long time, I was excited to buy this product. The packaging was nice, and everything deemed to be very nice quality. After installing the software and following all the instructions, I mounted the screen to my laptop and plugged it in as per the instructions. I downloaded the Beta 2 software version for Mac. After the computer restarted and was plugged in, the screen lit up briefly with the logo and then went black. I noticed that my laptop didn't recognize that the screen was plugged in. I double checked all the permissions, ensured I had done all the right steps, and even uninstalled the program and did the process again. With the same results, in addition to some other product findings I decided to return the item as it wouldn't work properly. I reconnected my other external monitors, and they worked fine as always. The general manufacturing quality is very sturdy. The added weight is to be expected, so keep in mind the screen will add the stress of additional weight to your laptop and may cause unwanted closing or backward leaning. The snugness of the screen in the frame when extended is loose. There is some noticeable tilt due to slack in the rails and articulating screen. This is not bad per se, just not expected, and would have been overlooked if the product did in fact operate. I didn't see anything wrong with the magnetic attachment points, but think the screen may come ajar should turbulent conditions occur, which would also cause the laptop screen to fall due to the additional weight of the Sidetrak screen on the back of the monitor. If a few glitches were addressed, this has potential to be a great product.

My wife ordered this as a gift for me because I almost always work on two screens at home, she thought this would be convenient for me when I am out of the office. At that time I really didn't need it and didn't try to use it. Well now I am working more out of the office and decided to start using it......it didn't work! I contacted support and they walked me through how to install and connect and everything...still didn't work. I thought that since it had been so long, delivered last March and it is now January of the following year, they would tell me that it was my problem, not theirs. To my surprise, the person I was working with told me that they would send me a return label and all I had to do was drop it off at the shipper, and they would ship me out a new one. Well sure enough I received the label and of course, it took me a couple of days to get it shipped back, I wasn't in any real hurry. To my surprise, the new replacement Side Trak came before I shipped the old one back. I hooked it up per their instructions and it worked flawlessly. Great purchase, a good product that I will get lots of use out of, and the best customer service and support I have experienced in a long time.

I was hesitant to buy this actually. I normally read the bad reviews first to see the potential issues. There were complaints about the magnet wouldn’t stay in place. So I was pretty hesitant. Before I bought this, I bought an 98$ dual monitor just like this in Cottageder website, it came up from facebook ads, I thought it was valid, so my order never arrived. Im pretty pissed of why Facebook would allow fraudulant ads in there. anyway, so i bought this our of desperation. I had very low expectation obviously. But shipment came just after a day (i have to mention it since amazon have pretty great shipment. When I opened it, it was very easy to setup. You have to follow the instruction how to attach it to the back of your computer, there is a reason why you had to stick magnets from your computers back and stick it to the sticky magnet of the monitor, this makes the adhesive work better, with magnets on both sides, it makes it very stable and not wobbly at all like what others complained. Resolution of the monitor is so good, even better than my laptop. Only negative is, the mouse movement is intermittently slow, which means rendering is felt, its not seamless. not sure if its bec of my specs? but I have 8cpu, and pretty reasonable space, so not sure. but overall, it is an excellent purchase. super happy with it. i will recommend this product. putting 5 star rating.

I bought this in mind for working on the go. If this is what you want it for, I suggest you do not purchase it. If you want to work from a desk at a hotel, or some other office/location but on a desk, table or a flat surface then go for it! It is not very sturdy. Like at all. I tried using it on the road from my lap desk, but it kept flickering. (as the passenger obviously) I would have to disconnect and reconnect. If it was a bumpy road, it would fall off. One of those times, it bent the cable piece that attaches to the monitor so I have already had to replace it. I tried using it from my lap on my couch (or any couch) and anytime I go to set it down (off my lap) the screen will fall off. Haha I just moved my legs and it fell off as I tried to type this review! Didn't even try to set it down. Which brings me to my next point, sometimes when it disconnects from falling off or what have you, it takes several tries of unplugging, plugging back in, and jiggling the cord to get the screen to come back on. However, when I use it from a desk, where it does not get moved at all - it works just fine. If I could figure out a way to make this sturdier, I would absolutely recommend this 100%. I have done some research on how to rig it, but haven't been able to find a non permanent solution. I don't always work away from my home office and don't want it to be permanently attached to my laptop. I hope this review helps! *********************************************************************************** I experienced some trouble with the monitor powering on, but no screen displaying. I reached out to the seller and they sent me a shipping label to return it and upon receipt they sent me a free replacement! That is what I call excellent customer service. I will be shopping from them again!!

This is not for adding a second screen for your home office, with that said this is a great product for people on the move and who need to be mobile and want the ability to work off of a second screen. The resolution is great on this screen. I travel a lot and this has been valuable to my overall productivity. The only downside would be you need to download a program to use it and most companies won't authorize outside downloads to a company laptop. I did download and use this on my personal computer and the process was quick and easy.

Overall the product does what it is supposed to. After connecting the driver I can set it up and have two screens. The screen is just visually ok, but on the small size which was expected. My main reason for not liking the product is when fully open only the top portion locks in place. The bottom portion always slides a bit which mean the monitor is wobbly and not straight. It also mean the laptop must be use on a table or steady surface. You can use it on your lap, but it will shake. You also need to put A LOT of thought into where and how you place the magnets. The location will effect how the monitor comes out and bends. I will take some of the blame for this, but I didn't just randomly stick it on either. If not fully thought out, you will have a little remorse on where you put it. I will be contacting the manufacturer to see if I received a defective one. It is weird how on one side locks in place. For the price the shanking and unevenness is not acceptable and it will be going back.

Being told we’re working from home another 3 weeks, I knew I couldn’t keep working with just one monitor without losing my mind. I was also told by our IT department I’d need a docking station for a portable monitor and I wasn’t taking that as a practical answer and decided to take a chance on this. Thankfully it works flawlessly with the downloaded driver and is going to be a life saver working from home. Once you’re used to 2 monitors, working with one is misery. This comes off if I know I’m staying in the office or I can leave it on if I’ll be working in different offices that day and want the dual screens. If you pull it out until you hear the click, it’s sturdy and works great! I waited for a year to buy this because I thought it was too expensive for what it was; however I feel I should have got it a year ago and saved myself the headache. Keep in mind, if you have a work issued computer, you’ll need an admin to allow changes to the hard drive to download the driver.
