Embossed wooden rolling pin
Used it to make cookies with the grandchildren. The design on the pin was deep enough to make the cookies special. Was easy for them to do.

Great tool
Bought on a whim. I wanted my cookies to stand out this year, and my gingerbread scottie dogs look amazing. I did dust them with powdered sugar to make the design pop. The cookies looked so nice I tried it on my lattice work on my Christmas Beef Wellington. Next I can try it on a pie. Very worth the cheap price. Hand wash only, obviously. I am pretty sure the folks who are having trouble getting the design to show up are not rolling out the dough thin enough. Use a regular rolling pin first, and I just used the cut-out rolling pin for the last roll. Worked perfect, even better than anticipated, the first time. User error shouldn't be blamed on the tool. The tool is perfectly fine.

Special Treats That Stand Out!
Beautiful and intricate design, this rolling pin is fairly easy to use. Youโll need to press firmly to ensure the pattern survives baking. My dough wasn't sticky so I didnโt need to flour the pin. My only con is that it's smaller than the standard size, you can only imprint a small area at a time, making it a bit time consuming. Cleaning wasnโt easy either; I used a new toothbrush to reach all the grooves. Still, itโs a great tool for creating special cookies beyond the usual cookie cutter cutouts.

Nice, deeply embossed rolling pin
Nice, deeply embossed rolling pin! This is the second of a pair that I ordered, and gifted to my daughter. She is looking forward to using them both. Her foodie adult daughters like them too, and the one in NYC as a Suisse Chef, especially likes them. So I may be getting more!

Best patterned rolling pin.
Of many patterned rolling pins I've tried, this one works the best. Its large enough. The pattern is deep enough to leave a decent embossed pattern that stays after baking. It takes a few mistakes to find the right depth to roll. I find a light dusting of powdered sugar and tapping it on the counter before rolling eliminates the dough from sticking. Very pleased with this.

Five Star ratings compelled me to buy this one
If I could give this product a 3.5 I would. The pictures look so good. Is is functional and does it leave a design, yes. Is it the best overall for all cookie dough (I'm talking a stiff dough such as for filled cookies like Oreos), I'm not sold. I make the Oreo cookies from the BraveTart cookbook by Stella Parks. In her recipe she calls for 1/4 tsp baking soda. If you leave that in and roll out your dough with the design, it totally fades away with baking. If I omit the baking soda I roll out the dough and bake the cookies, then my design is visible but not nearly as deep and defined as the pictures shows. So with that said, I don't know if other pins have a deeper design cut out that would perform better or not with this particular recipe. But for $25 I'm not terribly impressed.

The pattern is plenty deep enough
to emboss cookie dough... there were some reviews that said that wasn't true or that the dark color at the base of the pattern was something bad or that there were splinters. None of that was true of the product I received. It can be a bit time consuming to clean if you get dough down in those crevices but you'd expect that going in. I found dusting it well with flour / shaking out the excess made a better pattern for me and the roller released nicely. I had a great time with it, gorgeous cookies.

Was easy to use On my Christmas shortbread and sugar cookies! Pretty results.
It works good as long as you lightly flour it before each pass. Very pretty pattern! Good quality for the price!
