Absolutely not... Gas dryers produce dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and must be vented outdoors. Carbon monoxide cannot be trapped and dispersed by any commercially available indoor filter. You risk your health and possibly your life... Please don't.

Exactly how much water should be in the container to keep the lint in?

Just fill to line part that's made to container. If it's too far up the water will bounce out when turned on.

How often does the Lint bucket need to be cleaned and water put in it?

I check to see if it needs water. About 2-3 days . My bucket is on the back porch so it evaporates. That is why I have to check every 2-4 days
