Needed these for dressing a wound that persisted, good quality.

Does what it says

When I had an operation years ago and I was advised to use Opsite to protect the wound and have been using it for larger wounds since then. Over the year the product has improved, and it is still far ahead of most other adhesive dressings I have tried.Each dressing is around 9cmx8cm with the inner dressing pad being about 6cmx4cm. The dressing has a top covering that is oval in shape, meaning the sides of the top are not part of the dressing at all. This makes application easier as you are not trying to put something sticky on whilst not sticking it to your fingers. A simple innovation that works so well and I am glad they did it.Once applied, the dressing sticks very well and absorbs any seeping from the wound. It is waterproof so I only needed to change the dressing every couple of days and could have a shower with it on too - something cheaper budget dressings do not allow. Once it is time to remove, the adhesive comes away from the skin without damage and equally without any pain too.The only odd part of these is that they come in a bag and not a typical box. The actual dressings have a long expiry date (4 years) and are packed in a protective pack too.I will be getting more of these, and increasing the range of sizes I have. They are so much better than others.

My adult son has recently had a complicated knee operation and has come home to recuperate. The Opsite Post-Op dressings are the same as those that he received at the time of the operation; although he was sent home with some extra for re-dressing, there weren’t enough. I was relieved to find the identical dressings as they’re obviously the best for the job.The non-adherent pad is applied over the wound; a backing paper covers the thin transparent polyurethane film and is peeled off after placement. The dressing is also easily removed without discomfort. We’ve found the dressing to be successfully waterproof and adherent despite going through several showers; it also seems clear that the wounds are healing quickly while using these dressings. I’m glad I found them and will no doubt be using them in future when a sterile, waterproof, breathable dressing is required.

As long as the rather small size is OK for your healed operation or injury site, this dressing could be very helpful. It provides some padding against accidentally hitting or scraping the wound and maybe opening it again. At the same time it is not obtrusive. I used them on a healing shin injury, and they are hardly visible through fine texture fishnet tights.

I have used these in the past so was confident in getting them again, they are a great size to cover small wounds and stick really well to provide a good waterproof seal. They last very well and are easy to remove when needed. At £1 each these are good value for money.
