We got this for my son to keep him out of the kitchen since he loves playing in the dog bowls and trash (like all babies for some reason) and it works well in keeping him out! It feels sturdy, is easy to install and use! We’ve had it for a while and my son is smart so he’s figured out how to open it but luckily there’s another lock on top that keeps him from getting in and out on his own! Very good purchase!

This gate is worth every penny. I purchased a different brand and it broke about a month later. I then purchased one of these. Works amazing. A few months later, I purchased another gate for the bottoms of my steps. One side of my steps is iron railings, and the other side is wall. I needed a gate that could accommoy such weirdness. I had to purchase a sepu attachment to use with the gate but it still worked. Yes there is a little gap BUT ONLY if installed wrong. I just purchased a their gate tonight for the top of my steps. I will have three total of these in my house (kitchen, bottom of stairs, top of stairs) The gate does automatically lock when you close the gate door. People have shown pics of a one of the bars being a little crooked. Yes, mine are that way to. I think it's part of the design. I've had one for over six months and it's still going strong.

This gate is a great gate for families that have big and small pets. The door at the bottom allows my Boston Terrier to come through the gate without the Black Lab to enter. It’s sturdy as heck and is easy to open and close with one hand. Installation is somewhat easy, but make sure you are able to match the discs up across the threshold before screwing them into the door jam. All around great gate!

It's a very well-made gate that's very easy to install. The only issue I have with it is that if you open the gate all the way, it doesn't auto close. That's probably how they designed it so that one could open it and leave it open if you desired, but for me I bought it for my kids room. We have a dog that decided that for some reason in that one room only, if she needs to pee she sometimes pees on the carpet rather than asking to be let out. My boys are very young, and so sometimes they leave the gate open which sort of defeats the purpose of having an impassable gate to that room but where the door doesn't need to be shut. I'd like to see the shutting mechanism be a little more aggressive, but beyond that it is a very easy to use gate.

I'm 70 years old & put this up alone. It's a tad unwieldy to do it alone, but I was able to do it without problem. I got it to keep two of my Chihuahuas separated because they will fight each other and there is a great disparity in their sizes. My space is 36 inches wide and by using the included extension, it fits perfectly. I am having knee surgery soon and knew I wouldn't be able to step over the gate I had previously been using. I compared many and decided on this one for the price quality, and reviews, and that it did not have to be permanently installed. I live in a mobile home & it's hard to find solid places to connect things to the walls. I did buy the wall protector cups (separately) to better distribute the pressure of the rods in order to keep from possibly making holes in my walls. The spacing between the slats works well for my littlest guy; he's 4-1/2 pounds and cannot go through it. I also like the self-close feature for when I am carrying something. With my old gate, I'd have to prop myself against the wall, balance the stuff I was carrying (usually dishes), then step over a 2-foot high gate. I'm only 5'2" so that's a big step for me. No more! I can open the gate with one hand & walk through. It also has a stay open feature, which will be very handy for me when I am recovering and having to use a walker temporarily. Need a gate for pets or toddlers? I highly recommend this one! Do be aware, however, if not permanently installing it, a big dog or an older child could push this over. Gravity and their weight and all that. It is not recommended for children over 24 months. All in all, I am HIGHLY satisfied with my purchase!

I was already familiar with a similar product so after reading the description I was willing to take a chance with it. I had just built a new deck and had two big dogs and wanted to be able to enjoy the deck on nice days without the dogs jumping on us so I purchased these gates in the hope of keeping them off especially when the grandkids were over. I purchased two gates which were very easy to install and work well. Yes I installed them outside which they probably were not designed for and I understand that but they also seem to be made very durable. Only time will tell. So far they seem to be holding up well. I would definitely recommend and purchase this product.

I purchased 3 of these at the reduced price because the packaging was damaged. These gates are crucial in our new house to keep our two dogs where we want them. The auto-close is literally the best thing ever, it makes having to walk through gates throughout your house so much less of a nuisance. I did have trouble with the install. Its very straightforward and easy, I got the first gate installed perfectly, the auto close worked great! But the second gate I could only get it to auto close one way, and the third gate wouldn't auto close at all. I sat there for hours trying to adjust them to the point my finger tip started to bleed so I stopped and asked my handyman to take a look at them, hes awesome and fixed them no problem! But yea super annoying and frustrating, I even googled for videos or troubleshooting tips but found nothing, thank goodness for Rick!

Great gate. Locking mechanism is the best. I also have the Regalo easy step extra tall and wide gate, but I prefer this one. Wish I had purchased two of these. Feels much more well built and solid. Bar design is nice and my strong son can’t open it. He’s 17 months and already learned how to open the Regalo. I use this one at the bottom of my stairs as it is harder for my son to mess with.

Shipped quickly, installed quickly and works very well. Also sturdy and well made. Easy to open and close. Very satisfied. Could have given it five stars if it was just a little more sturdy because the price was not cheap. But overall can recommend the gate.
