MAXXHAUL70033 2 inch to 1-1/4 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter / Extension

I recently purchased a used hitch mount bike carrier that had a 1.25" base. I bought this adapter thinking I could slide the carrier deep into this adapter. The reduction only extends in the short area you see in the photo. Using the adapter as shown would have my bike carrier extend almost a foot off the back of my vehicle. As a result, I used an angle grinder and cut off 3" I. Length. Then I drilled a new 5/8" hitch pin hole 3.5" forward of the original hole. After making the changes, the adapter works well. I just wish the reduction continued to the big hitch pin hole and not simply the first few inches.

Product did not fit.

The adaptor worked well with the 2' hitch connection and the 1-1/4" Allen 2-bike rack. Drove with it to NC and back from NY without any problems.

This is exactly the adapter I needed to get a 2-inch hitch ball on my side-by-side so I could use my trailer with it.

Looks to be just right for the job. High quality feel and finish (powder coated). Came w a little manual that gives all info u need. Does not come with a pin to hold it. You’ll need 5/8 pin on each end of it. My bake rack was to close to bumper and lift-gate. Now its just right. Dont know if it wobbles yet will update later. Very satisfied for now. Price was great.

Welded this only a class 1 bike rack. Worked perfectly for that since it was really the only inexpensive steel adapter out there. Worked great but bikes wobble pretty bad. Most hitches / receivers have play, but this was much more than normal. Had to purchase a secondary anti-wobble adapter, which worked fine. Still, for this price this is pretty good for a steel adapter.

Solved 2 issues which are it moved bikes back so no longer have to remove peddles and no longer require hitch adaptor to go to the 1 3/4" bike rack hitch size from our class III hitch. We are leaving this on the bike rack permanently, bolted tight so can put the rack on car with just the hitch pin. Since rack is bolted there is none of the rattling others mention. I would think with just a hitch pin you may get typical rattling. Very reasonable solution for us.

This was the best quality and welds I’ve see on any of these adapters. Welds were nice and symmetrical around the main tube. Uniform and clean. Size was exactly the same as several others I’ve purchased. Using to adapt 2” receiver mount to a shackle attachment to my 2x off-road cycle, towing a small trailer. I have confidence in the strength and quality of this to work perfectly for my application. Recommended and outstanding value. I read other reviews and at 1st was hesitant to order it. Glad I did!! Quality and 1/3rd the price of other manufactures. Also it was on sale…Can’t be beat!!!
