Ok.. Lots of products out there.. Back to the TV infomercial of the "Pedi-Egg", which might I add IS absolutely NOTHING like this. I have purchased several products (ie. files, pedi-egg, foot sanders and even a low grade sanding disc for my random orbit sander) JUST to try to get rid of the callouses on my feet so I can WEAR MY SANDALS during summer and not be forced to wear sneakers due to the visions of my feet scaring little children. So I spent some time on Amazon and was literally about to hit the button on the VERY popular Emjoi foot sander when I read a review that said "Don't bother with this, get the Micro-plane Colossal Pedicure Rasp" and rather then spending $60+ on the device and rollers, I took a look. So previously being one who spent close to an hour using the Pedi-joke(egg) and files to try to clean up feet, spending a tad bit of time was no big deal. This rasp has 2000+ 5 STAR REVIEWS and, most importantly, it cost about $8.. So for $8, I figured before I spend $60, I would give it a shot.. This was probably just a pedi-egg like device with a bigger surface, right? WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! This thing is the med-evil callous destroyer, the axe for your Zombie feet, the silver bullet for your vampire callouses.. You get the point.. If you look at the picture and THINK it looks like a Pedi-Egg.. Nononono... Far FAR from. First off, IT IS BIG, Bigger than the normal hand held cheese grater. Second and MOST important, if you hold it close to the callouses on your feet, they will simply fall off from fear. OK, seriously.. what previously took me close to an hour, now takes 10-15 mins for both feet with DRAMATIC results. THIS THING WORKS AND WORKS TOO WELL. At first I simply went about sawing at my foot like I did with the Pedi-egg only to realize that only a min or two later, the callous was WAY gone and I now need a band-aid. Wow does this thing work, USE caution. First off it does have the pedi-egg like surface that has horizontal "slots" but also has raised and directional edges to quickly and VERY quickly make short work of your callouses. So after realizing that I was now removing layers of skin beyond the callous, I changed the amount of pressure I was using and between the big toe area, ball of foot and the dreaded heel, in a matter of about 5--7 minutes I HAD MY FOOT BACK like it has never looked before. This thing is AMAZING. and I am so glad I found that one review that pointed me here. My feet look great, it took me about 15 mins using this and a Diamoncel buffer (#11) and I ended up with a pile of dead skin in the bottom of the bath tub that looked more like a miniature sand dune movie set than the paltry remains of my previous hour long adventure. I followed this routine up with O'keeffes Healthy foot cream and the next day my feet felt and looked great. After a few days of using the cream AM & PM, I will swear up and down that my feet are night and day from when I got the rasp in the mail. Skip all the eggs, foot sanders, foot files, etc and GET THIS. If you have REAL bad callouses, this is your foot revolution! Just remember NOT to go at it like you are trying to sand a stone, you will end up having sore feet wrapped in gauze. Glad I saved $50 and found a product that really works well. The reviews are right and I agree with Reno Guy, this needs to be in black with a skull and cross bones.. GET YOUR FEET BACK AMERICA! Buy this!

I bought this product back in 2018 it is now 2021 and I love it! Just for reference I'm 22 years old now and did dance and cheer during middle and high school. I also walked around bare foot a lot back then and especially while I was a kid and yes even outside. Anyways back then I would always use foot scrubs, pumice stones, or cheap versions a foot file and nothing really worked. I always remembered having cracks in my heels and was embarrassed when I would go out and the cracks would still be ashy even after I moisturize. And pumice stones always have grossed me out. I couldn't figure out why the heck most people prefer them when you can't even sanitize them. Especially in salons! I been to salons a few times and only had a few pedicures that helped me achieve that soft foot effect. Even if I stuck with the same location I would only get a few good ones in before I felt like it didn't work anymore. So I bought this product to give it a try. At first I was using it on dry feet before I got into the shower and wow what a mess that made on the floor. It helped some but my feet would still feel rough after. I also was careful not to file too much because you can and it will hurt. I moved on to using it after I shower while my feet were still wet and it worked, but I still wasn't getting the results I wanted until one day I used it in the shower. Idky why the heck I didn't do that from the start, I've got my feet done before ( also hate people touching my feet) and they always soak your feet first and do it right after. It comes out so much more smoother when I do it in the shower plus no mess. I clean mines with castle soap and so far so good. It is easier for me to do one foot over the other but that may just be me. I try to recommend this product to people but they always say "I can just use a pumice stone" so I just keep my hidden treasure to myself now. I use it in the shower whenever I feel like its needed. Depending on how busy I am and the weather (yk, summer vs winter) I'll use it a few times a week, one a week, or once a month. It hands on my shower caddy in the shower and haven't gave me any issues. Seriously buy this your feet will thank you. BTW almost forgot to mention, I don't really use it on the ball of my foot or my toes because I'm way to ticklish and its just the most uncomfortable part for me in general. I just let the salon handle that part, I can't torture myself but I can let others torture me when I know I paid I my hard earned money to do so.

EDIT: I have seen several comments about how my before and after picture has been used for other products, but I want to clarify that this is MY FOOT and the before and after was from using the Microplane Colossal Pedicure Rasp. I also still use it, to this day, and it has changed my life. Ever since I can remember being alive, I have had THE WORST heels you've ever seen. Hard, cracked, dry... like cement for skin. This is most likely due to my love for flip flops during the summer, Minnesota winters, and constantly being barefoot in my home. I hate socks. I had come to accept my heels for what they were, disgusting ugly horrible things. Although, I hated them. They got stuck on my sheets, my feet never felt clean, my friends and family constantly commented on how gross they were. But I didn't know what to do about it. I had tried IT ALL. Every pumice stone that exists, that good for nothing ped egg thing, heel creams, heel balms, SANDPAPER, some thing from a drug store that looked exactly like this rasp, but smaller and way less efficient. So the other day I'm on Amazon and I decide to search "ped egg" just because I was desperate with my heels being EVEN WORSE because of winter and I had thrown mine away. I stumbled upon this rasp instead, saw the reviews, clicked order a second later, picked next day shipping, and that was that. It came today. I cannot get over how big this thing is, it's like a huge cheese grater. I took a deep breath and started filing away at one of my horrible heels. Skin bits and dust flew off, like a buzz saw. I could not believe it. I said out loud, to nobody, "OH MY GOD." because I could finally see the skin under my dry, cracked heels. I was able to file away all of the dry skin on my heels in under a minute each with this rasp. I called my mother in tears after because I could not believe it. I put some heel balm on them after and they are baby soft. I have soft heels, normal people heels. Heels that aren't scary to look at. Heels that don't get stuck to things. Heels that can actually feel what is beneath them. It's an absolute miracle. I submitted a before and after along with my review and I apologize for the disgusting before picture, but it's important to see what this rasp did. In one use. Under one minute. Unbelievable. If you have any doubts about whether or not this will work for you, you don't need to. If it can work for me, it can work for anybody. I literally had dried, cracked cement for heels and now I have baby soft skin from one use. I've never seen results like that in my life.

This thing is awesome! I've been battling with my dry, cracked, thick heels for over 8 years, largely due to where live (dry, high altitude, and really, really hard well water). Even though we're moving soon, I really wanted to get things under control. Some recent methods work and others help a little (i.e. a new, beaded negative ion shower head and/or Callus Eliminator), but the results haven't lasted long enough or do enough to make it worth the while, or I have to do things more often and with greater effort than my lazy, little mind would prefer. Even the methods that do work don't always get the job done 100% without me spending ages, if not a few days, working at it. In words or less: I've felt like a slave to my own feet. I've heard of microplanes and even tried a chincy one that was attached to another product, which did absolutely nothing for me. I'd heard too many mixed reviews on the egg-styled ones, and ones like this product just freaked me out, and I either figured they'd wreck my feet, would cut me, wouldn't work, or would put gouges in my skin and make things worse. However, I finally broke down and bought one to work with a liquid exfoliate I'd been using, since I needed a new file anyway and recently watched a professional using one on YouTube. I initially just wanted to try the file after it was delivered to see how it worked on dry skin, figuring I'd do a pedicure later, but I was extremely skeptical. Ten minutes later, thanks to me being meticulous and tentative, my feet literally looked brand new. No cracks, no dry patches--nothing but soft, pink, pliable and normnal-looking feet. Say wha?! I didn't even use a buffer or do the pedicure treatment (buffer might be needed in some cases). Score... I seriously felt a mixture of wanting to kick myself for not trying these things sooner and wasting all that time, money and effort on other products, and then wanting to laugh at my being such a wuss over nothing yet feeling ecstatic over the results and speed of the microplane. Not only is this faster and more effective than most methods I've tried (peel booties, liquid softeners, shavers, pumice stones AmLactin, regular files, electric files, home remedies), but there was no soaking, no waiting, no week's worth of shedding like a decrepit reptile, or hardly any effort needed (I hardly used any pressure). It's also much safer and gentler than other products I've used, and I appreciate lessened trauma/friction to my skin, which usually results in more calluses. The other thing I like about this product was the shape and size. Okay, the size initially freaked me out and I thought it was a bit overkill, but it just made the process faster and it also worked well on the arches. The only thing I'd love to see added would be a guard to control messes and a slightly softer handle, but those are minor issues. As others have stated: don't go crazy if you're new to these. They're much safer, gentler and easier to use than a shaver, or even a peel, but they're still very effective you can still take too much off if you're not careful. I did that in one area as I started to get excited about the results, and it's a little bit tender at the moment. Defo use a towel or tub/shower and a good moisturizer or oil after. I'm very happy, and I'm sure I'll get excited the next time I do yoga, which is when I usually scowl at my feet the most. That, and during shoe shopping. Definitely recommend.

Pros: easy to use, affordable, incredibly effective on dry and cracked heels, better than various other gadgets tried, including the electric ones w rotating sandpapery things that I’d thought were pretty good. Cons: omg please be very careful!! A few folks here mentioned having very sore feet after using, and so I thought I was being careful. The problem is that it’s very hard to tell that u are hurting yourself until it’s too late. I caution you strongly to go very, very gently. Especially once you get down a few layers and closer to softer skin. And especially if u have cracked heels, proceed slowly and with a feather light touch! I removed all calluses and used a very thick moisturizer, and within a few hours my feet in places were ON FIRE - so much PAIN I could hardly walk. Be especially careful on parts of your feet that you can’t see very well, like the far side of the heel. That’s where I sanded the skin raw. Lots of bandaids. I should mention that I used on dry feet, as directed on the package. Diabetics, since u have to be very careful w your feet, in my opinion u should not risk using this tool. Will I use this thing again? Yup. My feet haven’t been this soft in decades.

This foot file works excellent. Easy to use and makes your feet extra smooth.

I can’t say enough about this foot file. This is my second one & it’s hands down, THE BEST! I misplaced the first one I had & couldn’t remember the brand to save my life. It was time to replace it anyway. While searching for another one, I found several that claimed to be equally as good. Even the reviews on them were all good so I went with it, all while thinking it was a good value & just had to be like my old one. It even came with a matching tool to smooth the skin after use. BIG BIG MISTAKE!! It was definitely about the same size & I loved the color & matching tool but it was absolutely nothing like this one! Not even close! Talk about disappointment! I chalked it up as a lesson learned & basically threw money into the wind on it. Thankfully, I found my old one & came right back here to buy another. Just an FYI: I used my old one for about 3 years. It was a bit dull but still useable. But boy-‘O-boy, what a difference in the new one! I was blessed with horrible skin on my feet (saying sarcastically) & have to stay on top of their care. Since I went so long before getting this replacement, my feet were in AWFUL shape! I dreaded having to start the clean up but as soon as I did, I remembered how wonderful this file really is. Before, I’d have to file in sections, take a break & start again, ending in frustration, pain & lots of sweat. Yes, my feet can get that bad! With this file, I don’t have to spend an hour of vigorous labor! It is definitely Spa quality! That’s what won me over with the first purchase. I no longer had to spend tons of $$ paying someone to do a pedicure! Most importantly though, I didn’t have to go through the embarrassment of letting others see how gross my feet were! Do take note of the reviews that say USE WITH CAUTION. If you’re not careful, you can shave off delicate skin. I’ve never experienced that but can absolutely see how it can happen as this file is super sharp! But that’s what makes it stand out from the rest. It actually WORKS & works well. I could go on & on with praises for this file but I’ve already been too long winded. I really just wanted to get my point across that you honestly don’t want any other file! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Even if it has glorious claims & fairly good reviews. There simply are no substitutes! I highly recommend this file & am willing to bet that you’ll agree once you’ve tried it! Thank you soooooo much to the maker & distributor of these! You’ve been a much needed solution & blessing for my ongoing issues with with my feet that have gotten worse with age!

I've had very dry/hard/cracked heels all my life and you name the product, I've tried it. Absolutely nothing has worked to give me the baby-soft feet that I crave. Until I stumbled across this fantastic file! Minimum of effort, so easy to use (and you need to use it so infrequently!) and fantastic quality. If you've tried everything under the sun to fix your feet with no success, give the Microplane foot file a go - I promise you won't be disappointed. I can't stop looking at my own feet!
