Amazing self tanner!
I love this self tanner!! I used to use st. tropez, but I found I liked tanologist more and it is cheaper! Gives me such great color. I believe the undertone of my skin fits really well with this brand. It gets me dark and lasts a long time. It is a weird color when I apply, so I try not to go in public while it is setting, but I always do the express so it doesn't have to sit for as long, because I hate that feeling. I get the tanologist gradual tanning lotion and use it throughout the week to help the tan last longer and it has been my go to self tan routine!

Buildable and works well
I bought this self tanner in Medium with low expectations. I am very fair skinned, and one application was enough. Be sure to use a mitt designed for self tanning products and moisturize prior to use! After application there was a slight scent, but nothing like the self tanners of the 90s/2000s. It wasn't streaky, orange, or unnatural looking. I've applied this once and a couple pumps of foam was enough for the top and bottom half of each leg. A little goes a long way. As far as the fading goes, it seems to fade gradually over 7 to 8 days. I've never had a self tanner fade gradually. Usually it's spotty and comes off in patches. I will definitely continue to use this brand.

Great valued sunless tanner!
Tanologist Express Dark Self Tanning Mousse surprised me with it's color. It looked more natural than I had expected. Mousse is usually complicated to apply--more often than not, the color looks completely unnatural and always has an orange tint that gives it away as "fake", it streaks, it doesn't last very long, or it simply washes off or transfers too easily. Tanologist is a great value for a self tanner because as similar products that have a more natural color are twice the price of this so for the price, it really works out as great. As long as you have the right mitt to apply it, it's pretty easy and doesn't streak or look too orange, depending on your natural skin tone. When you self-tan at home with sunless tanners, you must base your product (its intensity or darkness) on your natural skin tone, either pale, medium, or olive. If you are pale/fair skin toned with natural red or blonde hair, don't go too deep, it will show up orange on you. If you are medium skin toned, with natural darker hues of hair color, you can go a bit deeper depending upon how your natural skin tone is from medium to dark. If you try to go too dark and your skin tone and natural hair color are light, then it will show up orange and you'll need to rinse and reapply, but don't leave it on too long. I like the color and I like that it lasts longer than 2 or 3 days. It transfers, but no more than any other sunless tanning mousse. Make sure you have the right applicator mitt because it does matter. Your sunless tanner form of mousse, water, drops, or lotion will be dependant upon the applicator mitt and it's material. Velvet is good, but with foam or mousse, get the sponge-like material mitts because they spread more evenly without streaking. Wear gloves underneath your mitt and wash your hands ASAP after applying.

Needs layers but works nicely
I’m super pale and I find that the Dark mousse needs about 4 back to back applications to be the darkest it can be. Basically 2x daily applications to get the darkest shade fast. I apply the 1st application the night before and make sure to get my hands. The only part of my body during this application that will actually develop a tan are hands, kind of just working to “prime” my body for the next applications and not develop much at all. In the morning I’ll shower as usual then afterward do the 2nd application SKIPPING my hands. I’ll apply extra to coats to the areas that fade the quickest/take the longest to develop then use baby powder to set it. On the evening of the second day, when I take my third shower, I’ll exfoliate my hands to even them out and use a very soapy sponge to lightly exfoliate my entire body - this step is crucial - I make sure to focus on any darkness that may have accumulated on my knees/elbows or any areas looking patchy. After the shower I do my third application and make sure to do my hands again and again, apply extra coats to any areas that take forever to develop. I will apply extra to any part of my face that hasn’t developed well OR to the places I want to tantour. On the morning of the third day my tan will be pretty much at the shade I want, but I’ll double after my shower and apply a 4th layer, skipping the hands. I know it’s a lot, but it’s worth it because Tanologist is hands down the most FOOOOLPROOF self Tanner I’ve ever used. Like, I’ve never used anything that fades as well as this does. The fact this is needs to be built up is a Pro rather than a con because there’s literally no way that you can accidentally mess this up (unless you don’t blend it well or don’t blend it into dry skin). If you use moisturizer prior to this product, it will develop much slower. If you sweat while you are wearing this, it will not develop at all. Skin needs to be kept completely dry. I really recommend using baby powder/body powder to dry the skin and tone down the scent of it. This doesn’t dry my skin out or make me itch like Btan does, also, this has never caused me any skin issues or acne. This is wonderful on the face. Word of warning, once the tan is built up, if you don’t moisturize your skin the tan will start breaking down, impart a “dried up cracked riverbed” look and appear as if it’s flaking off. Using a good moisturizer will extend the tan’s longetivty for a week or longer, but I find that I need to apply it to my face every 2-3 days because I double cleanse and use a sponge to exfoliate my face daily. No complaints, highly recommend it! One bottle gets a minimum of 4 maximum of 5 treatments, and more = more.

Perfect!
My tan is perfect. I got shade medium. The photo makes it look slightly darker than it is. I used lotion on dry parts plus hands and feet and it looks seamless. I used a mit to apply it and used a brush for my hands and feet. I love that it comes out as white foam and doesn’t stain my clothes I slept in while it worked its magic. Theee is a slight smell but not bad at all. I got the face tan drops also (not from Amazon) they also did well and it’s a buildable tan. It worked great and the color of the two products colors match perfectly.
