Great fun
This is a great extension to the basic game. I bought it to play with family who have just come back from Japan, and they loved being able to reminisce about beautiful places they had been to, to the envious Stay-at-Homes! Despite that, it was hugely enjoyable, and very easy to pick up the new rules. The Bullet Train rails were an excellent addition, giving my first experience of some co-operation, rather than cut-throat competition, in Ticket to Ride! I'm hoping that they add it to the app soon, so that I can play it on my iPad.

One of the Best TTR Expansions
Even though the TTR UK expansion will always be the best expansion for me, this one comes pretty close. As always, TTR is one of the best gateway board games out there, with great designs and helps in learning geography. This one is no exception. The Italy map (on the flip side) is a decent effort. But it's the Japanese side which is the real gem. The bullet train mechanic is just a fantastic idea. If you're looking for a TTR expansion but don't know which one to get, definitely go with this or the UK one.

Brilliant Ticket to Ride Expansion
A great version of Ticket to Ride. The addition of the bullet trains being a shared route and the player contributing the most to the bullet train network receiving the most bonus points is a great variation.

Very fun for Ticket to Ride fans
I think we have played all of the map extensions so far (except for Poland). The rules for the Japan side are a quite clever variant on the normal rules and provided our family a lot of fun, especially the shared bullet trains. It also has a fun feature of one city and one island having a map within a map design where you use the main map to get to the city (or island) and then the insert to get to specific destinations. Very clever. The Italy side is a bit less fun because there is quite a bottle neck in the long north-south axis and the rule variant of getting bonuses for the most regions doesn't change the game play that much. Still fun but not as well balanced as the Japan map. The art work and the little bullet trains are well done. Very happy with these new versions.

Best ticket to ride map
Best ticket to ride map, IMHO. Italy is sooo good, and Japan has a very different mechanism/strategy to any other map

Bullet train great addition
A great expansion to the ticket to ride games. The bullet train is a great idea & the way you all have to work together to build it & then can all use it getting extra points makes it different to the other games. It's a bit on the expensive side for an expansion game but a really good game.

A must for all Ticket to Ride fans
Japan is a really good add on, especially the bullet trains! You need the original game to play. Not had chance to play the Italy side yet but I'm sure it will be just as fun.
