These do what heat lamp do! my wife was bummed that her red therapy light broke so I ordered these to surprise her with a replacement for her to come home and rest under.The quality is great, these heat up the moment they are turned on but never get too hot. Fit any standard sized heat lamps housing with the standard light screw base. These were priced competitively with box stores but as always Amazon proved their value in ordering from themIm also posting to give my appreciation to the dedication and amazing customer service Amazon always brings to the purchasing experience. One of the bulbs in our 2 pack came broken (filament dislodged during shipping) and Amazon was right there to get me a replacement bulb overnighted to me. I merely inquired how to remedy the broken bulb and was greeted with and immediate replacement. A great thanks to Amazons customer support staff and all they do for us shoppers.

This light does more than they say. We had a bad ice storm and our pump house was in jeopardy. We have used heat lamps in it for 20 years now. It was cold, very cold, more than it has ever been, and it stayed that way for over 10 days straight. Well, I had to use a new bulb, the Bulbmaster 250 watt bulb. It stayed on for over 10 days straight, without a break. I am impressed and also relieved, it was one less thing to worry about. 10 days straight of minus 7 to minus 15 degrees F was hard on us here in the south. We are glad we had these bulbs.

the heat is wonderful but it ( the bulb ) does not take much abuse...i.e. the chickens love to play with it and tend to overdo it and the bulb does not last as long as it should

Update: I left my original update below, but have added to it.I was able to build a structure around my Dragon Fruit plant in such a way that I could point these down via clamping, reflective, work-light housings. The structure is 3x4x4 feet, (a big box), wrapped in a frost blanket and tarps as an outer shell. It looks like a huge Christmas present.I paired this with a WiFi timer/controller to regulate the temperature and used a Bluetooth digital T-meter to keep checks on the outside vs inside temps.Using two of these bulbs, I was able to keep the temperature inside the box between 50F and 60F with ambient temps as low as 11F.Initial Review:These are supposed to be hot, but these are too hot for my needs. I purchased this for an outdoor plant to keep it warm on cold nights. I am afraid to use this bulb as it may be too hot.The limit of my Thermonitor is 565 degrees. Photos attached.These are not defective, and I will keep them for something else later on.

These bulbs are great. I just would buy the 2 pack so you have a backup one to be safe.

The bulbs are very good quality

They work wonderfully. We have outdoor cats that have heated beds in our pool shed but it was supposed to go down to minus thirty-something and I was concerned. My darling hubby bought these bulbs and replaced the two overhead lights with them to take the edge off the cold. The pool shed now glows like Hades at night but my mind is at ease. Good price, good quality, work just as they should.

Light comes as a 2 pak. Lights infrared are good, 250 watt, 120 volt. Would be nice if longer life expectancy but are supposed to last up to 2000 hours. Overall a good product.
