Golden State Art, Acid Free, Pack of 25, 11x14 White Picture Mats Mattes with White Core Bevel Cut for 8x10 Photo + Backing + Bags

My kids compete in a photography competition each year through their school and this set was PERFECT for what we needed. I expected the backing to be more of a foam backing, but it is more like a hard cardboard type of backing (like what a normal backing is on a picture frame) but that’s fine, I’m only mentioning it to let people know it is slightly less thick than a foam backing. It looks great though, is durable; I got a pack of 10 & each has a mat frame, the backing, and a clear bag to slip each one in- PERFECT for transporting competition pieces to and from! You can buy these individually at your local stores, but they will be more expensive and won’t come in a pack of several, and if you go to a store with a framer and have them cut and put your picture inside (even using the same material that these are!) it will cost up to $20-$30 so this is an excellent deal, well worth it! It was all packed up nicely and packed carefully in delivery and was delivered in a timely manner. Will definitely save this for future competitions- and maybe even to mat and frame our own pictures on the walls in our house!

As expected

I'm an officer with the local art organization and we do a fair number of shows each year. This means my photography, painting, and cyanotype work are often out in bins at these shows to be pawed through by prospective buyers. These mats are AWESOME. I actively recommend them to everyone in our organization. I have sold countless bin art items using these mats. The quality is great. The bags hold up to the regular use. The mat and backing is sturdy and looks quite professional. I've had to rebuy more mats numerous times now - so they are definitely selling. The buyers are quite pleased with what they are getting. And the low cost means I can price things to sell at "town common festivals" and other places where pricey items wouldn't get much traction. Highly recommended. A note for those who are new to matting their works. If a mat is designed for a 8x10 print THE HOLE IS SMALLER THAN 8x10!!!! Otherwise you would see the edges of the print (or painting or whatever) at the edges. There is always, always, an overlap with a mat, which is the way a mat is supposed to work. So you always want, when you take or crop your photo, to account for that. There is always going to be a margin covered up on all four sides so that the mat sits properly over the work of art. Ask with any questions!

These mats are very high quality and are such a great deal. They are acid free and the bevels are cut great on all of the mats I have used so far. At $1.36 per mat its absolutely the lowest cost option when it comes to framing anything 8/5" x 11" in an 11"x14" frame. Also, this set comes with the backing boards and the bags for holding a print. This is a great deal for anyone looking to do quite a bit of framing. Outside dimensions: 11"x14" Inside dimensions: 7.5"x9" Included in this are the 25 mats, 25 back boards, and 25 bags for holding a print in. If your print is larger than 8.5"x11" you may be cutting off more of the print than you would like. This was my first time ordering mattes on line. I was not sure what to expect. The package arrived in excellent condition and the mattes are great. The quality, thickness, and size are perfect. The various colors are beautiful. This order exceeded my expectations. I will definitely buy more.

I really love these photo mats and use them regularly for gifting photos at work. The quality and look are great, and they make presenting photos feel extra special. They come with plastic bags, which is a nice touch for keeping everything neat. That said, I wouldn’t expect every single mat to be flawless. About half of ours arrived with small dents in 1-2 corners, and 5 were damaged enough to be unusable without framing. The damage wasn’t due to shipping—the outer box was in great condition—but there wasn’t enough padding inside the box to protect the mats during transit. The plastic bags are convenient, but 2 of them tore even when I opened them gently and carefully. Pros: 1) Great quality and appearance 2) Perfect for gifting photos 3) Comes with handy plastic bags Cons: 1) Some mats arrive with dents or damage 2) A few plastic bags can tear easily Despite the imperfections, I’d still buy these again because they offer good value and look fantastic overall.

Excellent product. The mat cuts are crisp and clean and the backing boards are perfect. I like that the bags are clear and the matted photos fit in them perfectly. One thing to note is that the black mats are not a true black but slightly brown. Not enough of a problem to look else where though. I did have problem with the last order in that there must have been a glitch in the packaging of the clear bags since that order was shorted by two. That is the first time I have not received all 25 bags.

The whole order came as advertised and with no noticeable damage. In fact I would definitely consider buying from here again. Great service and price for a great product. I am an art illustrator, so they will be helping to protect my original art. I liked how the mat board covers part of my 8.5 x 11" page to help hold it in place as I ordered bigger ones from elsewhere for my bigger pieces of art that would not help hold the art in place.
