Not even close to advertised picture.
This is my first time leaving a one-star review ever, I am so sad this isn't close to what I ordered. It is mostly inclusion Rock and has next to no opal in it, and the opal is very sedimentary and has poor color. I wouldn't even say that I got half my money's worth. I was hoping so much that this would be a nice stone, and to order more in the future. It's very disappointing when the advertised picture isn't even close to the stone. I know all stones are unique and no two are going to look the same but this is so far from what was advertised I'm honestly a little mad. Would not recommend this company. Which is very unfortunate because the pictures advertised are beautiful.

Wonderful gems
These are beautiful opals, small but perfect for jewelry

Not what i was expecting.
The color wasn't even close to what was advertized. Next time i will be sure to read the reviews before i decide to spend my money, lesson learned.

Good stone, but NOT black Opal at all!
The stone was an opal. It had good shimmer and "fire", but was NOT black.I will probably buy from this seller again, because the stone really was nice, and the price was really good, and most of all they come in really unique, and "charming" envelopes that are lined with something like "muslin (NOT muslim) cheese cloth" - one of them even with embroidered flowers! But it was most certainly NOT a black opal, and looked nothing at all like the picture. It was a good stone, and I like it, but it was NOT black as presented. All these guys seem to be from the same place, as all three of the individual stones that I ordered (this being one of three) came in the same sort of cloth lined manila envelope, from the same region of India. So, that extra "charm" is actually worth it to me. They took time to make the charming envelope, wrapped the stone SUPER securely in multiple layers of bubble wrap, and the stones arrive oiled in some oil that has an exotic aromatic scent about it. I really like that, that someone in India actually handled this stone before sending it to me, and oiled it in a perfumed oil. So that "mystique" adds some value, as far as I am concerned.I know these guys work hard, and this is how they make their living. And I wish them the best of luck, and I am glad that I can help them provide for their families. I do the same buy buying "Pakistan Damascus Steel knives" directly from the makers (you can find them on Facebook). I know I can buy similar quality on eBay for half the price, but being able to actually discuss the knife being sold, and learning a bit about the craftsman (and his family), and being able to chat with them about what they are doing, and how they are making my knife, and being able to make specific requests (like asking for some particular wording to be stamped on the sheath). So, I am willing to "overpay" a bit in exchange for learning about someone's craft, and their life, and their wife and kids, and such.Same thing here. Just know that when you buy individual stones, the stone you will receive will be much better quality than if you buy one of the "50 carat total weight" lots. In those cases, you pay $40-$50 for a dozen stones, and only two, maybe three of them are worth anything. To sell an individual stone for $5, the stone actually has to have SOME worth. And they do.But in this case, the stone was good, had good "opal fire", but just was NOT black opal as advertised.

Its not black; it's milky white!
This stone is definitely not even remotely even a close representation of the picture used to sell the item; this is NOT a black opal... it is milky white with a LOT of excess rock surrounding it. Would also have appreciated it if the opal were larger; not enough there to do anything with. Very disappointed. Was supposed to be a birthday present to myself. Happy birthday to me, I guess. š

Beautiful opals!
I bought three types of the Ethiopian opals, 1cw each. I read reviews from others so I bought a magnifying glass X10 with lights and Iām mesmerized by all three stones, beautiful colors! Thank you!!

its an opal for cheap
good price and certainly an opal. I ordered 3 separate types and they all look about the same to me. 4 star because they all look like the opal in this picture. other reviews certainly not 4 star

I'm a SKILLED LAPIDARIAN...
Obviously this is a Ethiopian stone.. and NOT from Australia.. With That in mind,.. I can only say that this is more of a 'Chip' than a 'Raw Stone'.. However, I WILL strive to work with it. (As is the case with MOST Opal purchased online, these days)
