Barilla’s Vero Gusto says “True Taste” right on the Jar, and I absolutely agree! Their Calabrian Marinara Sauce tastes very close to homemade, even prepared with the same items/methods I use to make my sauces from scratch. This boldly fresh sauce is a tad thinner/smoother than I would like. However, the on-point taste is truly delish! I love the short seven ingredient list.I really like the color-scheme of the festive label, sturdy glass jar and already have plans for repurposing it, as well as the lid. I will purchase Barilla’s Vero Gusto Calabrian Marinara Sauce again and try the other tempting sauce flavors. Although they are pricey, I have and will continue to recommend this healthier simply scrumptious sauce to my family, friends and anyone curious about new Vero Gusto Calabrian Marinara Sauce from Barilla.

Terrific flavors, whole family enjoyed them. One tip though, I added about a tablespoon of sugar to the sauces when I prepared them. They don't have much in the way of natural sweetness and most American style pasta sauces have a small bit of sweetener added to them. So many may find them more to their taste with a touch of sweetness. The tomato one also benefited from a touch of cream which give it some richness.Product was packaged very securely and arrived with no problems. They are a bit pricey but worth the price if you want to try something a little different on your pasta.

For some unknown reason my local ShopRite stores have stopped carrying this. Luckily I can get it from Amazon. The product arrived well packaged to prevent breakage. It is the best tomato sauce that my wife and I have found- no added sugar, quality tomatoes, nice thick texture- what's not to like?

These sauces were wonderful; they stuck to traditional Italian ingredients and use excellent-quality in-season tomatoes, so the sweetness is preserved. The tomatoes are well-strained so you won't find any tomato skins or seeds (at least, I didn't). The variety pack is convenient if you eat pasta often and get bored with roasted garlic and sausage.The jars are nice, as well. If you're the kind of person to make your own sauces, they clean up quite beautifully. I made a two-jar batch of black truffle sauce to give to my father, this morning!Pro/Con - The jars clearly list their ingredients; they use simple ingredients with great balance and attention, which means that you can, too, at a fraction of the cost.

Making a good pasta sauce is not that difficult. In this day an age though, most people shop for convenience; thus "jarred" pasta sauce became popular. After trying countless brands I stumbled across this and noticed it was made in Italy. All of the other sauces were incredibly loaded with sodium. Not this one. It has a fresh taste to it. I would recommend sauteing up some garlic bell pepper, onion, and any other add on you can think of. If you like a meat sauce, try the ground Bison that Costco sells. It's lower in fat than even the extra lean ground beef and, I think, it taste better. In any event, by comparison, this particular brand of jarred pasta sauce is a winner.

Wasn't bad but tastes like any decent generic pasta sauce. Which makes it a bad choice for the money. I thought it would be better than the other more affordable Barilla and it is not. I'd rather have that in a pinch and homemade if not lazy. Lol And I do homemade from canned sauce nothing fancy. Waste of money.

Vero Gusto has the ingredient list you wish all tomato sauces had - nothing reconstituted, no corn syrup/fructose, and, especially, no mysterious "flavor" chemical as an ingredient.The taste is excellent - not especially sharp, but distinctive. Made and bottled in Parma, Italy, a city noted for excellent Italian food.

I have been trying out various pasta sauces and have concluded this is perhaps the best I have tried from all those available at Amazon or my local food market. Not too sweet nor too tart. Savory would describe the flavor in my opinion. I also think Barilla makes some of the best pasta available, so I should have expected their sauces to be superior also. It reminds me of the home made sauces an Italian friend would make for special dinners. And hers took several days to make.
